Bought this gun a few days ago without too great of expectations for filling my Caterpillar 941b track adjusters that would not take grease from my Alemite hand pump. These adjusters are tight and the track was stuck on the hard ground. To my surprise, the gun powered through the pumping process, quickly pushing the hydraulic cylinder forward and tightening the track. It visibly moved the cylinder, filling it within seconds. If this gun continues to work this efficiently, I will be happily amazed and will use it on the numerous other tractor zerks I have on my equipment. I could be a Dewalt salesman for this product.

When I pull the handle back to put new tube of grease in I’ll have a bunch of grease come out along with the rod. Any idea why it does this?

What if the purge valve is leaking grease?
@MrEuph714 Жыл бұрын
Everyone I know has issues with the pressure release valve. When tested it pops off before 10000psi. We have used it on helicopters because they use a lot of grease. That has been a continuous problem with this grease gun. It has also been identified by other you tubers. Just wanted to let you know from multiple first-hand experiences with this grease gun.

Could you tell me why you wouldn't want it to pop off before 10,000 psi? I don't know about helicopters but that would seem to be a rather high requirement for normal lubing. I would be afraid of blowing seals.

@Mark Keeler if it is popping off early and there is resistance in what you are filling then it leaks out a lot of grease. Instead of just popping off to let you know there is a clog. Also if there is a small clog in the grease fitting then it just makes a mess instead of putting up to 10,000 psi to push past the stoppage. Does that make sense? I want to day project farm and tools tested food the same thing when comparing cordless grease guns. Not saying it won't work but there are unfortunately better one out there. I'm a Dewalt guy if I had heavy machinery I would go with a different brand from my experience. If you are just using it for general greasing it should be fine.
