In this video I tell you what will be needed to use the Artisan 1430 (Stylus Photo 1400) for dtf printing. Something I fail to mention is that you will need to go to Epson.com and download the drivers for your printer. Taking out the rollers is a necessity. Don't be afraid to do it.

Great video, I converted a 7210 to DTF, it was super easy. I am not using the white ink, just cmyk. Since no white ink I don't need a RIP software. I will probably get a 1430 to convert now since I like how DTF prints.

@@theathouriste4135 I totally understand this statement! Mine has a story behind it. I purchased this exact printer about 11 years ago at Fry's for less than 500.00. I gave it to my daughter for her photograph business she eventually gave it back to me about 3 years ago. I finally got the nerve to convert it to sublimation and its wonderful. You want to remove any rollers that will run thru the ink as it's feeding out. So if 8.5x11 is the only size you plan to print, then just the middle feeder rollers need to be pulled out.

I was able to go as long as two weeks if I cleaned it before shutting down....but.... the manifold will clog and it's really hard to clean once that happens, so I recommend running 3 or 4 purge prints before shutting it down, and then do a purge sheet every 3 days or so.

@craftingonabudget6700
@craftingonabudget6700 10 ай бұрын
If 11x17 is the largest film you'll use, then just take out the ones that would roll thru the middle. You need to keep the ones that will feed the film on the edges. So, probably at least the last two sets on each side.

Thank you for watching. You should shake the ink cartridges every day. If you do the shutdown maintenance every time you finish printing, you can let the printer sit idle for several days. Longer than that, you should run purge print with the cleaning cartridges to keep the printhead from clogging. I generally wait 5 minutes after the print is finished before applying the powder. Please let me know if you have other questions. Thanks!

I'm not sure it's going to be much faster. Of course, don't do ANY firmware updates. Use good ink. Dtgpro ink is what I found to be least problematic. And run cleaning carts at every shutdown. Watch the spikets where the carts snap in. This area can develop an invisible clog. Good luck with your 1430!
