We have two ragdolls. One is a girl and the other is a boy. We have a camera to watch them when we are away, especially if we are on a trip. We can talk and see them via the camera. Every time when they hear our voice through the camera, they will get crazy and look for us everywhere. They meow in such sad and anxious way and check us behind the camera, which makes my heart broken. Ragdolls are amazing!

I was a college student in NYC when I adopted my first ragdoll, because I was in school and only had to leave the house a few hours a day, and also I had roommates / roommates' pet there to be with my cat, he was not lonely at all and the small space I had in the apartment was good for only one cat. But after I graduated I lived alone in much bigger homes in the countryside, and I have to work full-time, my only cat at that time was incredibly lonely he will stick with me firmly for more than 2 hours consecutively after I come home. I decided that it was too crazy and adopted another ragdoll. It was purrfect after that and the older cat shows so much fatherly love to the younger cat and they play together all the time. Even though their personalities are very different, I don't regret at all getting the second one, even when I'm a little allergic to cats. But the decision should come from the living condition of yours and life style.

Could you tell me how much space your apartment had when you first got a ragdoll. I am planning on getting one since almost 2 years but I am so scared that my place is to small. I am studying as well but I am mostly at home and I would love to have company by a radgoll. I love cats sooo much and it would be the worst to make them unhappy. Therefore I would be thankful for a small description of your apartment, hence you said your cat was happy. ;)

I just got 2 ragdall kittens. They are also brother and sister. It's been a week. They play together and always looking for each other. But they don't want me to hold them. They purr for me but try to run away from me and only play each other. I expected them to be lap cats but I don't know what's going on.

Just some advice to potential buyers; don't get any pet if you don't have some savings and a stable home. I see a lot of broke people getting ragdolls for example and getting in trouble when they need special care/surgery etc. Or they break up and the cats have to be split up as well :(

I have 2 ragdoll cats and they just love each other. They are always together and play all day. A huge plus point in having 2 ragdoll cats is that they will not bite you in play as they will be satisfied in play with each other

I have already a 6 months old ragdoll but we are buying another ragdoll now so one ragdoll will be around 7 months old and the new kid on the block will be 12 weeks old. I hope they will accept each other but the chance is higher since they are both kittens. Though the 6 months "kitten" is already almost 5kg and 80 cm long so yeah, big boi but still kitten in mind :) We live in a fairly small apartment around 60 square meters, only one room but that is actually fine. I just wished to live in a bigger house so the cats can run further. They run so fast though ..

i just recently got a ragdoll kitten she looks full blooded and shes only about 7 or 8 weeks and ive had her for about 4 days now and i didnt buy her i found her outside my house with bad fleas and she was really dirty. i asked around my neighborhood and no one said she was theirs so i guess i have a ragdoll for free. shes so sweet but im excited to watch her grow up.

katie I’m getting a ragdoll in 2 days and is 5 weeks old. Is a mixed breed.. we’re going to find out what’s the missed breed but the cat look more like the mum which is a ragdoll.

Yes, in your case that works really well. They will certainly be a great comfort to one another when you are away from the home. Even though mine like and get along with my other cat, they do hang out alot together and play together, too.

Your raggies are BEAUTIFUL! Yes, they are expensive but totally worth it. We adopted 2 (6 mo & 3 mo) but the older one had the corona virus and passed away. We were her humans for only 3 months. So heartbreaking. The little one has mourned her as much as we have. The breeder is giving us another in a few weeks when he is 12 weeks old. I hope our little guy will will be happy again 😿

I would love to have 2. However, I think most people who have 2 are more settled in life (older, have a house and children). Having 2 would make it hard for me to do two week international trips and I would like to bring the cat with me cross country to my parents home for the holidays....

They are a wonderful breed. Any Ragdolls I've had have been very gentle natured... very soft spirited cats. Not saying all are, but compared to my current RESCUE cat Jack, they are! He's a former street fighter, so he knows the ways of street survival!

My girl LOVED it just being her and I. It’s been so perfect, we lived in a van together during lockdown, we go on adventures, relax and do everything together. She’s used to having me with her a large part of most days. I recently got a new job which has me out of the home 11-12 hours a day which is why I’m getting a second. Hi. Yes I too often think of getting a 3rd Ragdoll. Seal mitted with hourglass blaze... and a bow tie! And a baby!!! No that 3rd one is a rescue. Many people think he looks like a flame Ragdoll, but just a barn cat I rescued.

We have a senor ragdoll now that gets money. However since we didn’t adopte two while still kittens which makes it easier. It’s been impossible to get her to accept the new kittens we have. It’s been 9 months. Ugh. So always adopt in pairs.

We adopted our Ragdoll a week ago still awaiting till he's 13 weeks old to bring him to our home. The lady who sold him to us have also got goregous Liliac point kitten still avaliable and we are torn if we should adopt him too, but we are not sure if we can cope with two cats this size and cost behind it. Our house is 3 bedroom and galley kitchen where we want cat (cats) to stay while we are asleep. We are not sure if thats sufficient for two big cats.

I would have purchased a Lilac but I couldn't find one. 3 bedrooms is a good size. They would probably sleep together and not take up much more space than one. Although you are smart to consider cost. Good health care for them does not come cheap. I just spent $1000 on biannual blookwork for 3 cats.

Not sure if you get a single cat you will get any sleep. They want to be with you everywhere so you might get a lot of noise overnight. My cat sleeps on my bed or under it. I kept her in my kitchen at first to get her toilet trained as she had diarrhoea but she was shouting for me to let her out. She cries when i go out and is shouting when i get home and she is 18 months old and i only go to shops. I am retired. . You cannot go to toilet on your own or have a shower. I would let the kitten or kittens upstairs. Free roam of the house.

If i already have two other cats already it would be recommend then to adopt two Ragdoll kittens 🐱 ? I have been thinking long and hard about it but I do want to get a Ragdoll so bad... my other two are Norwegian Forestcat-Housecat Mix and are brother and sister. My girl is very gentle and softnatured and very motherly so i think she would get along well with a Ragdoll female. I don’t know yet if i‘m going to adopt one or two Ragdoll kittens... we‘ll see. I‘d want to be sure to give them the purrrfect home and i want the new arrivals to get along well with our two cats (they‘re 4,5 months old currently) but as of right now I don’t think our apartment with catsafe balcony is enough space for three (or four cats) so that‘ll have to wait. What would you recommend? I wouldn’t want to let the age gap become too big but realistically we‘ll live in a bigger apartment with a safe garden or bigger catsafe balcony in about two years.

Like a wand with some stringy things from your local pet store... they love those. Cuddles, food and a soft, private nest will keep her contented. Quiet atmosphere too if you're able to provide that.

I have rescued a beautiful rag doll cat. I am his fourth forever home. He has some issues. He has a very sensitive stomach and he has issues using the litter box. He poops in the box and pees right next to the box. We are working through these problems. I will not give up on him. Do you have any ideas that might help with either of these issues.

I was told some will not do both in same litter box. Try 2 litter boxes but in different areas of the home. Has worked for a lot of people.

I don't see any reason why not. I had 2 Ragdolls brother and sister. She tolerated him and liked him (deep down !) but he clearly annoyed her. She much preferred the company of the other rescue female cat I had. I am not a cat expert. I only know what I know from my personal experiences and reading but I believe if there's something you really want, like to raise a Ragdoll and a British short hair for example together, if you put the effort into transitioning them carefully and slowly, you should get good results.:)

Ok, so you have to have a lot of money to own a Ragdoll cat. Got it (that counts me out). I wanted to resue one, but who would let go of a cat like that.

Well bred Ragdoll cats are expensive. Way over priced if you ask me honestly, but that's what the market charges unfortunately. There are shelters who end up with Ragdolls and they don't even know it! I knew a woman who adopted 2 Ragdolls together in a shelter. The shelter didn't have a clue. She paid the fees for the 2 cats, under 1 year old. Sent me a photo and yep they are definitely Ragdolls. What the purebred gives you is that it is MORE likely the cats will 'look' and 'behave' like the ideal Ragdoll, but still no guarantee. If you look on FB there are rescue sites which will actually classify their Rescues by breed.

I think it wouldn't be fair on the animal at all. As a student you will be studying a lot and training if you're going to be an athlete like you said. You'll have little to know to time to have QUALITY time with your cat. I think you should consider this later in life... you said you want a friend you can easily take care off, you'll have plenty of friends in college and loads of stuff to do. How about your cat? Will stay all day at home waiting for you. In your situation, I would consider none at all, or two. One would be too cruel for your cat.

They can be found at shelters. Some big shelters will list the breeds they have. You have to look around. Also join some Ragdoll Groups on FB. They often have people trying to rehome a Ragdoll.
