@@MattWeber Something to note: The point of view is in the Crater Lakes, approximately in the middle of the larger of the two conjoined craters looking West toward the smaller one, one of the arches from the red forest can be seen to the left. There currently is not a node there of any type, but there is a small spire of rock with a Somersloop on it. So at least one Somersloop has been replaced with this new magenta ore. There are several SAM ore nodes in the open air with interesting vistas scattered around the map, and we saw none of them. So I give 60% odds this is a new material in addition to SAM ore and 40% odds it's renamed and moved/added SAM ore.

I kinda liked the idea of Fixit being just greedy corperate planetary strip miners. Openly, and known from the start. Taking a gorgeous world full of life and flora and turning it into a heartless factory felt like part of the heart of the game. Adding a 'you are doing this to safe earth' part just muddies that water, especially since I am pretty sure Fixit will still end up being evil anyway.

yeah, the fixit "content" we had always made me thought that the pioneer is some kind of robot / servant of fixit that would do everything they asked without questioning and the story would actually be the pioneer getting "consioness" about fixit and realizing how bad they are with the aliens communicating throughout the artifacts pretending to be fixit/ada so the pioneer would not question or report it

5:39 Tbh I like the old UI better 😢 It makes sense that Ficsit uses a screen instead of physical buttons as it is cheaper (The UI was a screen, now they are physical buttons and panel with screws in the corners) Or maybe because I am a functional minimalist and stubborn 😂 But still, props to the UI/UX designer! From what I can pick up about Ficsit, how they treat employees, how they are treated as disposable assets they own. How the alien artifacts lines creeped me out further about the company. I am hoping for story-mode that you are given the options of cooperation or rebellion against Ficsit. I know you said ya'll retconned narrative stuff, but the choice to cooperate or rebel against the company would be awesome. When I first encountered the alien artifacts and heared the lines that would play when near them, I resolved to be a secret guardian of the alien artifacts, never give them to the company and also try to be a steward for the planet.

I'm a story guy. I've always been a story guy. And even in games where story isn't the focus, one of my favorite parts about gaming is reading into the lore and establishing my "So What?" reason, as it's so often the difference between playing 50 hours and 500. I have been itching so badly for this in Satisfactory so I am beyond excited to see what you all come up with!

I haven't really read much up on the earlier planned lore at all. but i played the game and hearing the artefacts speak which implied a deeper story to the game got me quite curious. having a lore/story to follow as to why you have been thrown onto another planet to establish a big production helps with the motivation or how to say it building all these big things in the game. yeah i know its just about building and chill out and oh i have and ive had my fun with SF+ aswell still it does not change the fact its a bit sad to hear they gonna scrap most of the story and lore they had planned. any ways rn im just waiting for 1.0 as not to burn myself out before its released

@@TravisHi_YT so what? I like stories when the people doing them know how to make me feel curious. Touching grass can be as exciting as an intriguing story. You know what, I like stories so much, I even write my own! I have to admit this really sounds to me they wanted something MUCH bigger and couldn't do it. But still, if it's fun, who cares if they present it to you while watching a film, playing The Last of Us or some factory game. And to clarify, I didn't bother with story at all until now. I just crammed the volume down when some mysterious voice taunted me... I just wanted to make big, 100% efficient factory. They just... made me curious.

i really like that yall saved the story for 1.0. i only played subnautica on full release, but when i watched early access playthroughs, i thought it was weird that the story was added in bit by bit. it was much more impactful for me to get it all together on the first playthrough

A cool story would have been that the earth was attacked by an evil alien power. In the first wave we were able to get hold of technology that allowed us to print holograms and do so almost in real time using a stream of nanobots as long as we have the necessary resources. This enabled us to increase our energy output enormously, which led to rapid developments and intersolar travel, but now humanity needs one! Resources, resources and preferably even more resources. The first wave was just the scout and that alone cost 14 billion human lives. When the habitable rings around the earth were destroyed, there were only a few billion lives left on earth, Mars, the moon and on the moons of Jupiter. We need the resources to print ships that put everything that has ever existed in the shade! That would be a cool story :D

I think the story from the film "Oblivion" would perfectly fit. Just a few adjusts: - The Earth is already gone, but the human DNA is kept by the AI. - We serve as a clone the big AI - The AI explore new planets and send a clone to it to produce new parts for the big AI - We (the player) send to a strange planet, which contains alien creatures and strange alien tec from another time. If you want to go further, you could say the alien race which lived once on that planet is gone for a long time, but aren't unknown by the AI and so they send you to collect the strange stuff from them (which contains a lot of energy => "computers" like a lot of energy). And in that way may you find out, that you aren't on that specific planet by coincidence. But! Who needs a f storyline in satisfactory? I want to build big factorys and get that air dirty!

So no Sommerslop and Mercer Spheres storyline? This is the first ever letdown I've had with this game, I was so intrigued by it... I explored the world so much in the search of more mysteries and even located a gate-like blocked cave in a crater in the desert. It was amazing to think about it because of the creepy lines you heard when finding an artifact and all, I always looked forward to 1.0 to see what were they cooking story wise. Of course I will play it again when 1.0 comes out, but this is pretty damn sad.

I try to take the attitude "It's just a game", but the details on story mode were a bit disappointing. Maybe because I have been playing Techtonica, and like how they have interwoven the story into the game quite well. But thinking Satisfactory's story is going to be less than what Techtonica is doing. On the other hand, it's easy to do better than Planet Crafter. Thinking maybe they did about the same effort as Astroneer's story mode, but time will tell

I think project assembly is building the giant ring above the space elevator. You fill up the pod with materials and it flies up to the space elevator to deposit advanced materials. The point of taking these materials and creating this is to make a huge place for all humans to live (like the end of interstellar) because earth is being destroyed and humans need a place to flee. The Mercer spheres and the somersloop are the planet’s most valuable thing, so it guards it with everything it has. Either it’s so powerful that is corrupts Ada (which is weird because why would the planet want to remove its valuables) or ficsit knows it’s valuable so it overrides ada and commands the pioneer to take it, maybe because it can help people. That’s what I think the lore is: a company trying to save humanity by constructing an interstellar-like spaceship to hold and save humanity.

Those collectibles could also be planted as a defense. Anything with sufficient technology that picks them up gets their systems infected, like a Trojan. That would make them use your AI to get you to pick them up. If you have no AI on you, you hear nothing. It's just a pretty sparkly.

I have started playing this game with a friend of mine at the very beginning, and we have always been wondering what the structure on the top of the skylift was since the first trailer.
