Considering I'm a New Orleans native, I'm used to the humidity and the hurricanes possibility lol. Relocating to Texas made me adjust to the heat and a higher cost of living. I'll be moving to Maryland in a few months, I hope it's nice to me.

As far as property taxes it depends where u are coming from. Here in Illinois we have the 2nd highest. Maryland is ranked 31st. Y’all cost of living is higher but taxes are lower.(depending where ur coming from)

This was the worse representation I've ever seen of Maryland. Clearly every state has some issue, but Maryland is a beautiful state. It has rural areas with lots of space and farms and mountains. It has the eastern shore that is flat with corn fields, dairy farms, chicken farms and of the beach. It also has several large cities and surrounds The capital of the United states. I would stay away from the Baltimore. Annapolis is beautiful on the bay and has a rich heritage. There are so many places you can go from Maryland for a day trip or a weekend away. DC is rich with culture and history. Get a brochure on Marland and the many different geographic and historical areas near by. One thing I do not enjoy about maryland is the how long winter last. depending on where you are moving from, it may not be a problem for you.

Montgomery County, Maryland is very crowded. Montgomery County is building more apts/condos than single family homes. High Taxes!!

Great breakdown and explanation. Maryland can be tough to live in. Lots of history and interesting stuff here. Baltimore has gotten a bit questionable to visit, I love md been here all my life but have considered leaving to find cheaper living and to get away from the overcrowded areas

Dang, has she been to Cumberland, Deep Creek Lake, or the small towns on the eastern shore? Her commentary seems to be about PG County, Montgomery County, Baltimore City and surrounding areas. Annapolis also quite urban. Each area has their certain charm. Although lately I try not to venture into those areas because of the crime and liberal governance is disconcerting. I live in rural Frederick County. Frederick City is a short few miles away. The area has been historically farm land, that is changing much to my chargrin. Although Maryland is not as big as Virginia we still do have a lot of open spaces and recreational areas. If someone wants to move her e for work, there will be a commute unless you are working from home. Or are in the residential service industry which there is a great need for,especially for all the high paid people that live in the rural areas.

Hello, great question. It depends. I typically can assist with finding a client a home/condo for rent however a lot of apartment complexes have their own leasing departments that don't cooperate with realtors. If you're interested in an apartment specifically, unfortunately no.

Virginia has a huge military presence so I don’t think that’s true. Virginia is more modern and probably nicer overall but I don’t think that Maryland is dump (Annapolis is probably nicer than any place that I’ve been to in Virginia).

The worse part of Maryland is Prince George's County, people have made it a total slum, I am very ashamed to say I am from there, my family moved to Northern VA in the 80's, when I was little PG County was not a slum but now it is

Rain rain and more rain. But the segregation of communities is a big reason not to move there too. Diverse but not integrated. Separation, engrained racism and overt racism is a big reason. Just left this hell hole in 2023 after 30 years.

I grew up in Harford County and I left the state years ago. My advice is don't move to MD unless you have no choice because it's overpriced and has turned into a s@@thole at the same time. MD is big on section 8 and that was the beginning of the end for HC because you end up with a bunch of losers and criminals that have no desire to improve themselves or the community. It was a beautiful state but Baltimore City is a cancer that spread and even many small towns in the state have high crime rates.
