They prey on emotionally broken/vulnerable people like vultures. That's what scammers do best. Get in contact with widows and old ladies that have solid financial ressources, and then get them to become romantically investesd in the relationship. It's sad and disgusting.

Most of them don't know any better. They've either never had a healthy and genuine relationship to begin with, or they did and want to feel that again so badly they'll willingly close their eyes and believe the first sweet words they hear from someone. Anything just to get those tingles and that romantic rush. Love (or rather the illusion of it in this case...) is really very much like a drug for many people.

People don't seem to understand that the elderly didn't grow up with all of the electronic programs & devices we have, so some of them have a much harder time recognizing when something is "off" regarding communications via modern electronic devices/programs. Top that off with a sprinkling of desperation, & you have a recipe for disaster. I understand being flabbergasted at how somebody can fall for this sort of scam, but to have zero sympathy for the victims is pretty cold.

Wow I’m blown away that Dr Phil did his own investigation on the text messages of Chris Olsen. Didn’t know those messages that he posted was copied from a website. That’s should’ve been red flags 🚩 for that lady. Also he pulled up the reasons of why he couldn’t visit Sarah. And they were all a lie and there weren’t any public records of that. That’s lady is so love that she can’t see that Chris Olsen isn’t a real person. He a scam artist . Poor lady cuz now she has loss all her inherited money to a scam that could land her in jail. My mom was contacted by a scammer and he was saying he loved her after 2 days and was asking for $100. I told her not to fall for it. She wanted to believe he was real and almost sent him money but I told her not to because it's just the beginning to more and more money. She now blocks and reports every scammer that contacts her over the dating websites.
