@theclaimsquadpublicadjusters the maximum amount of $10,000 on the Assurant policy. Due to the theft of my personal belongings by my landlord roommate, an 77-year-old man, that SA'd me then locked me out of the house and stole anything of value that I had (worth fat more than $10,000). I had been working with police to regain these belongings along with the SA unit, though police have been less than helpful, saying they are understaffed to enforce anything like this. After months of seeming a resolution with them, they my only recourse is insurance and a civil case. Therefore, I am filing a claim with

@theclaimsquadpublicadjusters thanks for the tips. Can you provide me with any other tips for the submission of this claim. There is the theft or conversion of assets and properties outside my personal belongings that I am interested to know if you have any legal and/or professional level assistance that you can provide?

I do not recommend Lemonade Insurance Company. We paid $3800 a year for home insurance, but our claim for a water pipe burst was denied. The adjustor came and took pictures of our bathroom and I kept telling him that our ceramic wood in the kitchen was lifting and he just kept ignoring me and focusing on the bathroom which is tiles. #Lemonade Insurance Company. #Terrible #homeinsurance #fraud #texas

The gentleman is 100% correct about how to report an insurance claim. Also never say the words "rot" or "mold" when making a claim. If you are filing a claim for wind or hail damage be certain to know the dates that high winds or hail were recorded in your area so that you can have the accurate date of loss when filing. I am a huge fan of public adjusters as they have done more to keep the insurance industry honest than most any other entity. VERY IMPORTANT! 1. Never sign a PA contract that removes you, the insured homeowner as a payee. Make it so the PA can't endorse the insurance proceed check without your approval and signature. Most PA firms will do it this way anyways. 2. Also be certain to negotiate in advance in the contract with the public adjuster on how and if additional fees are handled separately for extraordinary expenses above and beyond the normal costs of doing business, such as expert witness fees and expenses, engineer and inspection fees. If they have to employ special services it is more than likely necessary. Just follow the PA's advice but be certain to know how these services are paid out. 3. Negotiate the PA payment percentage lower as the claim amount gets larger. In my opinion, you should never ever pay more than 20% for a public adjuster or you will risk not having enough money left to actually repair the covered damages. 4. Never pay a public adjuster money upfront and in fact in most states I believe this to be illegal anyways. 5. Your public adjuster should get $0 dollars if he or she doesn't get you an insurance award. Be sure the contract stipulates that. 6. Often it is better to seek help from a public adjuster after you have received the insurance company offer and have already consulted with a reputable contractor. At that point if you and your contractor feel that the insurance company was unfair with their offered claim settlement, simply hire the public adjuster at that time. They can certainly make the difference in receiving a correct and fair payout. 7. Remember, if you choose to hire the PA and sign a contract with them before you see what the insurance company is willing to offer in settlement, you will still be on the hook to pay the public adjuster and forfeit 10% to 20% of your available rebuild money.

Boy you insurance claim adjusters really have no clue on how things are done. I'm literally scratching my head on all your points. Sometimes when you try to be the smartest guy in the room you end up the dumbest. 1. Since you don't know let me enlighten you... There are state laws in each state that governs what a PA can do, charge, etc.. 2. The insured is always on the check Not surprising you didn't know that A PA contract can't omit the insureds name from the check lol Your other points don't even have a place, ignore state laws that PAs have to abide by, and seems to be far off point to PA contracts You insurance claim guys should worry about paying claims. However, thankfully you don't because if you did pay claims there wouldn't be Public Adjusters in the first place 😘
