Alhamudlliah all the info here was very beneficial and it matches what I have learnt as well . I learnt that it is haram for a Mujtahid to deviate from his ijtihad except to preserve unity (under a khilafah ) Jazakallah Khayran for this wonderful video

9:29 Abit confused on the scholars ijtihad. Does this apply to all scholars today? The current graduates of an institute or only certain imams of the past who reached a certain level of understanding of the Deen (mujtahid mutlaq)?

There see no more mujtahid mutlaq. There are mujtahid for new matters only

If you take a stance that only your view is valid and everything else is a bidah then you can’t be considered as a part of Ahlusunnah. Because you are denying the proof other group brings that leads straight to Prophet(S.A)

At 9:09 he says it's Haram for a layperson to have an opinion on matters of religion. This is highly dangerous and 100% against the Quran. God asks people to use their minds and reflect and you're asking them to surrender their minds to other people and just blindly accept whatever it is the majority says is valid. As if we didn't learn from the Quran that societies can go on on falsehoods for generations, but somehow we're the lucky ones. This is insanity.

You use your mind to arrive at certainty in Allah and His Messenger ﷺ ... and to choose your scholars. But if you are untrained in Arabic, Quran, & Hadith, then you logically cannot form a legal argument in fiqh.

@@Loundjaa are you serious ? The laypeople can not derive ahkam from the Quran and Sunnah and thus we can’t have our own “opinions “. We use our mind when it comes to choosing our Mashayekh , clarifying opinions with other sources when opinions don’t sit right or when something is clear cut . For example.g if a scholar comes up with an Ijtihad that RIBA is halal , we use our brain , but even this instance we only use our brain to defer back to the Scholarly Ijma’ that is it haram . You are incorrect
