I would say 50% or less, based on how big the rodent is you are trying to get rid of. You don't want them to be able to touch the bottom of the bucket.

These don't work for larger mice and rats... They just jump out. The mouse just jumps on the under side of it which creates an opening to jump out.

Ok but wouldn’t the bait just attract mice from afar that aren’t necessarily hanging out by your home? I’m a new full time RV’r and I don’t have a mice problem. I’m trying to prevent them and stop them before they find a way to get in. It seems like peanut butter under my trailer might attract them. Anyone know?

There are a few rodent/rat/mouse repellents on the market if you can figure out a way to incorporate that. For all external walls and openings, avoid plastic & use metal where you can. We are dealing with a rat problem in a house.

@@sammanthaestrada1162 Yes I know about and am incorporating several different mouse repellents. My concern is using bait to attract mice that might not be here otherwise. I don't want to create a problem where there isn't one.

I caught 6 mice in a single night when it worked. It took a bit though, since the mice started roaming a different area by the time my trap arrived. I also overdid it on the peanut butter so it was extra cleaning when no mouse took the bait. As long as you put it in an area where the mice are frequently roaming/looking for food, it should eventually work.
