Carlos Florez failed got a 62% I loved their program but after a few chapters you have to pay like 75.00 or something and I didn’t have it at the time to do that so I went off the over saturated info not knowing what exactly I need to memorize and got a 62. The test questions weren’t hard very simple I had no math questions risk and suitability was def a factor I’m trying again sept 12th

I just took the SIE yesterday (passed) the majority of the questions for me was from chapter 4 in the kaplan book mostly asked what I as a RR can or cant do when it comes to various things like for example what "as a rr this statement would be considered misleading to a client" or as a rr which one of these statement can you make to a perspective client and is considered correct" I did have one question that I struggled with so much I ended up memorizing it so here it. Ill tell you how I answered it and what my reason was but if it is incorrect can you please tell me the correct answer since it got me really curious "A municipality has issued revenue bonds to build a bridge with a toll. The bridge was not as popular as the municipality had hoped and it doesnt know if it can now pay interest on the outstanding bonds. What will happen?" (its not word for word but thats basically the question) a) pay next coming interest then declare the bond default b)use state taxes to pay the bonds interest c) issue income bonds d) default on the bonds I chose B for my answer because I know municipal bonds are only second to federal ones when in comes to safety. I eliminated C because I think only companies that are reorganizing after bankruptcy only issue income bonds. and i avoided a&b because i think it would only go default if the entire municipality when belly up not just the one bridge. But like I said I have no idea my book covered this topic pretty well and i know that on GO bonds are backed my taxes but my book never really went over what happens if the revenue behind the revenue bond doesnt cover the interest. can you please explain what the right answer is and why?

In regards to the question you saw, here's my take: I do not think the answer is B because it's a revenue bond. Revenue bonds are only backed by the revenues of the project, being the bridge itself (I assume there's a toll on the bridge). Therefore, no taxes can be used to pay off the bond. Also, it's not C for your reasons (only corporations issue income bonds). That leaves us with A and D. The answer hinges on the exact wording of the question, though (I know it's a summary of what you remember). If they make it clear in the question that they don't have money for the next interest payment, D would definitely be the answer. The only choice is to default if the funds are not there. If the question mentioned having only enough revenue to pay the next interest payment, then we could make an argument for A. All in all, the important part is knowing a revenue bond can only be paid off with revenues the project receives, and no taxpayer funds can be used (unless it's a double barreled type of bond). If I had to guess, D is probably what they were looking for. I hope this helps!

@@Sohanuncensored this was literally a year ago but from what i remember u just gotta do a bunch of practice tests. review the ones you got right but then super review the ones u got wrong. i studied about 12ish hours per day with 10-15 min breaks every 2 hours. the thing that helped me most FOR ME was as i read the book i rewrite what i just read in my own words. then check to make sure if i got it wright or missed anything then when i finished reading the book i just re read the notes and did endless practice tests.

Took mine today. Passed! I used Kaplan to study. I will say you definitely need to read the questions and answers carefully. The wording can be very tricky. I had to use process of elimination a lot even though I felt like I knew the material. I was getting high 80s and low 90s on my simulated exams with Kaplan. Only used the calculator once. I have purchased the Kaplan SIE exam prep have been doing fairly well achieving 80’s on the practice exams would this translate to a passing score on the actual exam?

You're most likely to pass the exam with those scores. Make sure you've taken at least 5 practice exams (if not more) without any resources. If the average over your last 3-4 practice finals is in the 80s, you have a very high probability of passing. Good luck on the exam!

I'm biased, but I recommend using Achievable (link is in the video description). I wrote the program myself, which comes with digital reading materials, some videos, and thousands of test questions. You can gain access to the first chapter for free, so I recommend checking it out! To be fair, Kaplan and STC also have good SIE programs as well. I hope this helps!

O did send in a few questions via the contact form however after a week of waiting, I’m convinced that their customer service isn’t the greatest. Need 6 & 63...help!

Buy the STC course my friend is a CFP and said this is buy far the best course to invest into. For $125 dollars u get a book with all the info u need and with it comes a bunch of randomized quizzes for each chapter, practice 85 question exams, and 2 final exams that are the closest thing ur going to see to the real exam.
