Finn, you're so good at straddling the line of being serious and goofing around. I'm actually not sure if you are being serious with what you are saying about the genres. I love it, even though I am a Death Metal fan that doesn't collect retro games, watch wrestling, or live low-wage. What you said about Metalcore, I'm gonna say equally applies to Deathcore. Keep on going, I actually love trying to figure out what's sarcastic and not.

So Finn's take on.... Death Metal: Under achievers and they're proud of it. Thrash Metal: Metalheads Cosplaying as "Party Boys" Prog Metal: Dorky/Nerdy people that are over achievers. Nu Metal: Bald headed, bearded, glasses wearing aging clones. Viking Metal: No opinion. Glam Metal: Cringe fans that take these bands too seriously. Goth Metal: Girls music that guys gravitate to get some boobies. Grindcore: Collector & historian of VHS porn. Groove Metal: Nobody likes it aside from Finn's sister's ex. Tech Death: Software game enthusiasts. Folk Metal: No opinion. Metalcore: More cringe than Viking & Folk Metal music & fans. Sludge Metal: Clinically depressed stoners & drunks. Industrial Metal: No opinion. Melodeath: Dominated by Europeans. Power Metal: Likes the bling. Deathcore: 2 kinds....tik-tok scene kids & Reddit core kids. Doom Metal: People who need psychiatric treatment. Traditional Metal: Outdated people with outdated taste in Metal. Black Metal: No opinion.

Nightwish is gothic metal? What...? Nightwish is the OG symphonic metal band, a subgenre you should respect a lot more tbh. Nightwish is still leading the symphonic metal charge, though Epica has arguably surpassed them at this point. Still a great band and great genre. As for classic metal, I just don't understand you. The Beatles, Queen, Pink Floyd, Led Zeppelin, etc, are all amazing bands that many people still listen to. It's the same for metalheads and Black Sabbath, Iron Maiden, Judas Priest, Motorhead, etc. They're still amazing and their music simply doesn't go out of style, they're just as timeless as the above bands I mentioned just in the metal genre. Go right now and listen to say Powerslave(the entire album, not just titular track) by Iron Maiden and tell me it's shit, outdated or whatever. I also really don't understand your disdain of European and European music, especially of the metal variety. If you actually open your mind to it you'll be pleasantly surprised...

As a european Finn's videos are my comfort space, after years of trauma from people overhyping Pirate and Melo Death Metal or Metalcore that's 10 years behind the curve. Yes I started out with Folk Metal, but soon discovered that good music is much more enjoyable than just a silly gimmick and a fiddle constantly blaring over every riff. But while on the topic of good music, what absolutely ruins my day is Finn making factually and objectively wrong statements about Mudvayne, who not only perfected Nu Metal, but proved to be so far ahead of their time that the majority of people only now caught onto it. Literally how many more years does it take for the last person to understand the sheer genius in musicianship of that band, or have some people dug themselves in too deep of a hole that they are too proud to get out of?

I like that sweet spot between glam and grunge. Between '88 and '92. I don't know if you would call that proto-grunge or post-glam, but that music seems the most raw and real to me.

Metalcore by far is my favorite. Just the right mix of heavy instruments and harsh vocals, while still having great melodic sections and actual song structure instead of just 4 minutes of screeching and chugging.

Being a Metalhead who enjoys many styles of Metal, I like these videos where he bashes on various Metal communities. It reminds me not to take myself too seriously

Born in the same town that Acid Bath is from, within the same timeframe of them recording When the Kite String Pops. One of my favorite albums and bands. I guess i defy the Sludge metal trend though, because when im not studying to be a Lutheran pastor, I work as a Chaplain at a university hospital.

My favorite thing about Finn is his talking a ton of shit about fans of genres of music that he's also a huge fan of. Like he's talked very passionately about Suffocation, Sanguisugabogg, and the Faceless, but the stereotypes still absolutely ring true. You can enjoy all this shit, just don't be a smelly person or buy weird puffy Walmart shoes about it.

The ear stretchers transcend genre. The only person I know with them is my dad's cousin, whose favourite guitar player is Tommy Emmanuel, and is old enough that he saw the Beatles live.

Hi everyone, my name is Lauri and... i'm a fan of groove metal. Yes more than Pantera, including Machine Head and Soulfly. I'm also a fan of some thrash, industrial and nu metal and that's it, i don't care about the rest of these genres and i don't have time because i listen to many other types of music aswell. Thanks for listening and giving me the chance to share.

I'm a "viking metal" fan (which means I like folk metal, which is a global genre) and idk I'm kind of a loser but I do have the two girlfriends, so I'm not like an incel. I also like gothic metal cuz it sounds like being in a theater which is a comfort to me. I like groove metal and grindcore too. Devildriver was also one of the first metal bands I heard and they're pretty melodic, which I like. But this is a pretty good take, overall, HOWEVER, fuckin metalcore was always the most predictable and contrived genre of metal ever.

“Real party boys listen to Drake” Uhh somehow I doubt that. When I think of big party/modern frat boy kinda vibe I think of stuff like Calvin Harris, David Guetta, stuff like that.
