Not sure what to say other than... keep making videos! I enjoy your vitality, positiveness, and love for education. These are valuable assets on KZbin and everywhere else, especially given all the negativity online. Keep making videos! :D

Ohhhhhh I feel your frustration! The TIME section particularly... What do you do when you have a life outside of KZbin?? We've decided to completely change what we do, keeping the same theme but super short and vlog style footage so we can get more content out there. We're also looking into investing more time in Instagram as a Sci comm platform rather than KZbin. Good luck!

Thanks for watching and commenting! Yeah...I'm also exploring other potential options that might work better for some stuff than KZbin...we'll see where I land on that. Good luck to you too!

The value part really resonated with me. This is all very frustrating for me because I know that what I do is valuable both because I find value in it and because my community does as well.

Agreed. And I know we shouldn't put much of our energy into caring about what KZbin finds valuable. But those value judgements affect how the platform works, and make it harder for creators who generally don't care about those metrics to get any traction. The result is it's harder for us to find the people who care about our stuff, and for the people who care about our stuff to find us.

Also, I somehow had not yet subscribed to your channel yet...fixed that! 🙂

Well thank you, I appreciate that.

Great video! This new policy is really frustrating. I don't think it will significantly change how I use the platform, just because making videos has always been more of a hobby for me than anything career-related. But I definitely want to make more of an effort to support small creators, both by promoting other people's cool stuff and by encouraging alternate funding methods like Patreon.

Thanks for watching! I'm a big fan of your videos - they never fail to make me laugh! :) Agreed on the supporting smaller creators thing...there are better ways than ad revenue to make this thing work. I fully believe that.

I'm going to keep doing what I have been doing, because I like doing it. Some BookTube folks have banded together to do the #StrikeBackVideoAThon, which is basically 30 video topics to discuss over the 30 days leading up to the changes, to try to get some more watch time for small creators that will be losing their partnership status, so checking out videos from that hashtag means I find more small BookTubers to share my reading love with.

Awesome! I hadn't heard about that one, so that's great to know. Thanks for sharing!

That sounds cool - I haven't heard of that. I'm still planning to make a video everyday in lent, so I just don't have the planning time to pull that off too.

I'm glad I found you, then! I'm glad to find someone vlogging instead of kicking people in the tenders.
