They finally bought a tiny piece of land surrounded by finished building? That sounds like some weird Texas land stuff. I'm wondering... What about it? 🤔
@michaelfink647 сағат бұрын
I don't think this is just a Texas thing. You see people clinging on to a tiny piece of land surrounded by a massive development from time to time. When I was a kid, the council wanted to build a new car park behind shops in Camberwell, an upper middle class suburb of Melbourne, Australia. There was one old lady who didn't want to sell the house she had been living in for decades, and who could blame her? So for several years, there was this little old house with a little rose garden smack bang in the middle of a shopping car park (an open one; l I think this would be called a parking lot in the US). Eventually, the old lady died and the house was pulled down and there was a nice, big, boring car park instead. Sometimes you see pictures of massive highways in China swerving around a house (surprising that the Chinese government could not compulsorily acquire the land). In the Boca Chica case, I suspect the landowner had been hanging out for a big payout from SpaceX and when he saw that they were just going to build around his land, he gave up and sold the land to them.

The devices on the chopsticks are indeed to prevent ship damage. Booster 5 seemed to be squeezed pretty tightly as it slid down to the catch pins. This much have caused some damage and would decrease rapid usability. These new decides could measure the ships location very quickly And accurately allowing the chopsticks to close with just the right amount of pressure OR no pressure at all. They may allow just the catch pins to grab the arms. After all the best part is no part. Why grab the ship if all the weight rests on the pins.
