Graham thank you for again sharing your experiences. The Video's show us a lot of different collector's interests, gives some inspiration to expand to areas that we might never had even thought of!! A lot of the public seem to think that Philatelists are ancient individuals in dark dusty old rooms!!! But to see the variety of ages that you have interviewed it gives new meaning and hope to the hobby!!! Thank You!!!

If ever there was a video that captures the flavor of what it's like to be at a premier stamp show, this was it. It was especially revealing to see young people enthusiastic about collecting stamps, just as I was many decades ago (and still am now). Also striking was to learn that In Great Britain, at least, there are even stamp clubs in schools. Thanks for the great tour. I felt like I was right there.

This is one of your videos that are memorable in many ways! Sharing moments in history that are so vibrant for me. Me who is an admirer of Her Majesty Elizabeth II, to see documents and people who had the privilege of meeting her, it touched me a lot! I really liked seeing that a tribute was made to you and to Liza from Cat Stamps! Thank you very much for this virtual tour.

I am very proud of the community, any event with large numbers of rival Philately gangs has the potential for chaos often resulting in angry worded letters almost being sent back and forth, but this was peaceful enjoyment of the coolest hobby on earth with the coolest people sharing what they love, with others that love it just as much. If someone asks you if the world would be better if more people collected stamps, just answer of course!

Though I mainly collect Canada and US stamps and postal history, I do have a small 'World' collection. And that includes a British folded letter similar to Oliver's which is postmarked April 30, 1840. Like him I've always looked at it as the end/beginning of an era. Thanks for showing us collectors showing us. Always great to see what interests other people. Cheers!

I thoroughly enjoy watching your videos. I hardly consider myself a stamp collector. Though I do have some stamps put away but not in any order or theme - from my younger days. It's wonderful see these people presenting their stamp collections at these shows, especially the younger people - hoping to see that philanthropy continues on into the next generation. 😊. I was astonished to that young man pointing out his stamps with the finger that he indicated them with.

After looking your Nepal video and the topic with the Everest stamp from 1924 I thought, it would be interesting to see a letter with it. I have one of these stamps and I read a bit about the expedition, but I never saw a letter. And now, thank you Magnus, we have one of these letters. Fanatstic. Overall there were so many nice and interesting items shown in this video. Interesting the sheet issued with 41 pieces sent only to some handwritten people, I have never heard of it. The Guyana stamps and the really nice Swedish letters and, and, and... This was really nice to see.

Some additional info (a bit late). The "red line" on Oliver Tull's cover is the numeral "1" that signifies the postage of 1d (one penny) to mail the letter. As stated in the video, the use of red means that the sender paid the postage. Had it been in black ink, the amount would have had to be collected from the recipient. The "coin" on Christopher's covers are actually medals, not coins. (There are covers that include actual coins in a similar fashion.) The reference to "coins and stamps" on one cover relates to the fact that Machin's portrait was used on British coins from 1968 to 1984, as well as the coins of Rhodesia, Canada, Australia, and New Zealand. In fact, the effigy was originally intended for coins; only later was it accepted for stamps as well. June 6, 2017 marked the 50th anniversary of the Machins. The final cover Christopher showed was from 2007, marking the 40th anniversary.

Hi Graham - I watched your vid on removing self-adhesive stamps. I was talking to a philatelist recently about this and they mentioned they ways stamps had been designed to prevent fraud if not postmarked. I had a go with hot water on these self-adhesives and they seemed to come off pretty well. What are your thoughts on hot water versus an adhesive remover?
