Well here is the problem with the heavy plate theory . One of the first bullet resistant vests I was issued had a plate in the chest to help block shock from a bullet. They found that the plate was not catching the bullet but deflecting the bullet up into the throat and chin. They replaced the plate with more Kevlar . I am okay with the yellow being for style.. After all he wears a big damn cape.

"He didn't win out right, oh but he also wasn't trying to win" Batman literally said "I could have upped the dosage. I could have made this lethal, but I chose not to." In the Tower of Babel story in which Ra's used Batman's strategies against the JLA, it's absolutely true that none of those strategies resulted in lethal or 'final' defeats..but that was by design. He developed those for if they were body snatched, mind controlled, etc, with the assumption that they'd be fixed eventually. If the question is 'could he have developed lethal answers instead', then it's a question that we don't have a canonical answer to, but I think it's a pretty definitive yes, nonetheless. Just off the top of my head, there was the time Brother Eye killed everyone on earth. As Batman's creation, I'd say that counts as him winning.

For the record. The real story behind the YELLOW BAT SYMBOL is that DC Comics couldn't copyright a simple bat likeness that was all black. By placing the black bat symbol in a yellow circle, the emblem was copyrightable and thus owned by DC. The fact that it acts as a sort of bullseye for the most heavily armored part of the suite was a retcon created by that particular writer.

After falling in chemical tank he seek revenge on Batman by torturing him. Most persistent Joker, commanding whole group of brainwashed people, making elaborate plans and developing dangerous tools like Joker gas. Jeremiah Valeska in Gotham. 4) Modern Joker - Gangster and sociopath, who was brainwashed into Joker by previous one. His identity is bit unclear and possible could be many of them, as Joker at one point try turn everyone into himself. Most commonly associated with Jack Napier in the movies. 5) Joker Junior - Young gangster Joker famous from his dragon tattoo. In some interpretations he is in fact no one else then Jason Todd, who after his supposed death (Joker more retrieved him as he was member of Red Hood's) over time snapped from brainwashing become later new Red Hood (that part isn't canon in the comic.. yet). It is broad description I remind. In comic it is way more complicated.

I think that there's two characters that make up Batman, the scared, scarred child who watched his parents die, and, the adult, who vowed, not to let this happen to ANYONE, again, then, set the child on a mission to acquire the necessary skills and information, to make it a reality. I remember exactly when and why the yellow background was added. I read Batman and other DC comics from the late 50's to about 1966. Batman always had the black bat on gray. But then in January 1966 the Batman TV show with Adam West aired and on his costume the black bat was in a yellow elliptical background. Why the producers had made that decision, I do no know. But in Batman's very next appearance in the comic books he was wearing the same yellow ellipse as on TV. The cover of one of the first comics after the TV show first aired shows Robin trying to call Batman away from the TV to answer the Bat Signal, but Batman wants to stay there and watch himself on TV.

I agree that Bruce isn't a mask, I'm not sure why so many people think that. I knew everything but The New Frontier explanation of the yellow symbol, by the way the animatronic dinosaur originally appeared in Batman No. 35 (1946). Nice video overall, although the reason Batman can beat Superman is because he knows he can't personally fight someone who could lift the world over his head if he wanted to (on his own), but he knows which people can.

@@rbname7318 Batman has a soft sot for children and has stated time and time again that he scares criminals but hates scaring kids, if he scares a child in the wrong situation he will have a harder time saving them. Justice League New Frontier he said the reason for changing his suit colors to grey and blue was to not frighten children and frankly I like that reason it means Batman has a soft side. Believe it or not the reason for the change in Batman's suit to Blue and Grey was so that the comics could appeal to children anyways. While I agree the yellow works as a target but it can also serve a a purpose for kids to recognize him when they see him.

Whenever Batman faces a new opponent, he loses the first fight intentionally so he can study their fighting style, habits, etc. This explains why a man that drop anyone in a matter of seconds loses fights. It is because he isn't actually losing. He is learning. Not only is he learning how to adapt his fighting style to a new opponent, he is learning how to effectively bring somebody down without the use of deadly force. Think about it this way, Batman was physically getting trashed by Darkseid but ultimately won Darkseid's respect through strength of character alone.
