Pro Tip: If you kill the dogs master; while the dog is still on the leash...the dog won't look for you, it will just sit mourning, whimpering over the loss of it's master. You don't 'have' to kill the Dog! ( the man is there by choice, the dog is there by duty!)

Another tip that I haven't seen people mention anywhere is that there's actually a way to kill most enemies in the game using only one bullet, and I'm not talking about headshots! Shoot at their legs! I was downright impressed that naughty dog actually thought about the combat and programmed it in such a way that it's almost like an actual real world fight. If you use a weapon with medium to low damage like the revolver, semi auto pistol, hunting rifle (before the damage upgrade), and semi auto rifle and even the bow and crossbow and aim at an enemy's leg, they will enter a staggered animation similar to when you hit them with a distraction object, which will allow you to either grab them or kill them using the strike button. This move is an absolute lifesaver for situations where you are running low on ammo and can't reliably get those headshots in. This works on runners, stalkers, every human enemy except the seraphite brutes, and even CLICKERS, which is something that I discovered entirely on accident. So yeah, instead of wasting ammo trying to get a head shot at a clicker, aim for the legs and do a strike. I grew so dependant on this move that when I came back to TLOU 1 I found myself instinctual doing it and getting killed when it didn't work

The _leg/stun shot + melee strategy_ is my #1 favorite one in Last 2! I "discovered" it unfortunately too late on my 3rd or 4th game at it, on Grounded when Abigail is besieged from every direction in the abandoned building. Even though I was thrifty and saved a lot of ammo, I only used her powerful rifle which single shots that either blew away Infected's limbs Dead Space-style or stunned them long enough for the bullet-saving close-quarter kill! As effective with Ellie too! I wish I knew that very very useful move on my initial game! ☻

I can't stress enough how breath taking the game is. The graphics are out of this world phenomenal. All that hate over one death or just ideals that conflict. This game is to the moment one if not the best animated game on ps4 right now. The story was so involving. I Just couldn't stop. I wanted to know what the heck was going to happen. What a roller coaster of emotions. Would I recommend? Yes, but only to people that are willing to be emotionally attached and heart broken. Its not for the faint of heart. 8.5/10 just wow

@@sionetupou437 I was relieved that she didn't kill Abby. What I don't understand is why it took her so long to realize that killing Abby wouldn't change anything. Joel would not come back to life, her PTSD would not dissapear. She do lose everything already when she makes the choice to go down to California. I didn't think Ellie was a very believable character in this game because of the extreme lengths she goes to. Even more so when she understands Abbies motive. The biggest flaw in the first game was that you didn't get a chose what to do in the end. Save the world or Ellie. I felt the same way with this game. Why couldn't we chose to kill Abby or not? I think it would have been interesting to see the statistics of what people choose in such a scenario.

5:15 It literally says "Restores melee weapon to full durability..." That's why throughout my playthrough I waited until the last 1 or 2 hits were left in any melee weapon before upgrading them. Otherwise, this is a great video. You did a good job of avoiding spoilers for people who haven't finished the game yet. I'll respect that by not spoiling anything here.

I have another tip. You can pre-kill those infected that are stuck to the walls, then burst out of their husk/cocoon. Just aim for their head, plus use a bow and you may get your arrow back.

Only wish the game flowed better, the switching perspectives and flashbacks were becoming jarring enough to distract gameplay focus and narrative direction. If we had played as Abby for the first half of the game, Ellie’s second half would have impacted us greatly. Think about it, through Abby’s perspective she kills Joel and spares Ellie and Tommy. We continue as Abby from a flashback of her fathers death and wakes up at the point where we play as her in Seattle. We see how she is progressing through and the people she is friends with, we also hear about the stories about more dead WLF and trespassers being more vicious only for the natural progression where we are surprised to see Ellie is the one hunting her. And the deaths of Abby’s friends would feel more impactful because we would have much more familiarity with them before their gruesome deaths. When we murder with Ellie we understand that revenge is a two sided coin - on one side it’s just and on the other it is equally cruel.

@@rp2808 I see your point. But I like many of the narrative decisions the creators made. My only major issue was the very end, which felt tacked on and put there to please the fans in a way. Though, they left Ellie in a position that many fans would not appreciate. To me, I understood, many of the grievances the fans had with the story;but once I realized what the director intended !and Did away with the usual tropes and schemas I had in my mind, I was very satisfied with the way the story was going. Many people will cling onto their perspectives along with their attachments to their characters, which is kinda sad, but I think the directors did a good job and met their intended goals. I especially liked the moment where they paralleled that boss battle towards the end of the first. Where Ellie is now the stalker trying to take advantage of a helpless prey. Not ashamed to admit That part did blow my mind.

It might have been easier to take every thing in if there was more chopping and changing between the two playable characters. A bit as Ellie, a bit as Abby. Personally I'm playing the game with basically all of the HUD removed (except the reticle, because it's a third person game, and nearly impossible without it) on Survivor the first time through, without aim assist and without using listen mode, and it's making for a pretty interesting time. Certainly not impossible to get through, just have to be patient. More challenging, and immersive.

More info on the melee duaribility: melee weapons have rectangle things under their HUD,sometimes the duaribility is decreased when you get them from enemies but the chance of it not being broken is increased in easier difficulties,anyway let the weapon have at highest point 2 or 1 duaribility so its not a waste and by upgrading it you get 1 additional duaribility point

Love this game! I do have Cerebral Palsy, so I rely heavily on accessibility features. However I do like that you can quickly grab someone before they raise the alarm. I always found it weird in stealth games of old that when one spots you, the whole area instantly knows your location.

For the safes, the correct combinations have distinctive clicking sounds, so if you can’t figure out the puzzle or find the note for the code just listen out for the click. Or google it, it’s up to you😂

There is a safe I found that had more than one "deep" click on each set of numbers. It took a minute to figure out but after I got it I received a "safe cracker" achievement

My tip would be make maximum use of craftable munitions first and save your bullets. By that I mean trap mines, explosive arrows, molotovs etc. They make short work of just about everything. Trap mines dont give your position away and you can use them to quickly mine windows, doors, corridors etc while in stealth. Then either go loud or use a bottle to lure them in and watch them get blown to mince. Mining your scent trail is particularly effective against dogs and their handlers. Collect any that are left when you've cleared the space. If you are seeing the FULL symbol regularly, then you're not making best use of your resources.

I like setting a bomb sneaking away then wait. Gotta be patient enough to learn there patrol routes first but it works great against human enemy's as they will investigate the explosion. If you plan it right you won't be near it and now there backs are turned.

I absolutely adored this game. Anyone who says they don’t like how the story went, you’re entitled to your opinion but if you thought there weren’t going to be significantly dark consequences from the choices made in the first game then you’re completely deluded. The people who hated it for including LGBT characters can just get stuffed (America is a diverse country, get over yourselves). It was an incredible journey and an incredible tale of the negative quantitations that come from being obsessed with vengeance. The game play was gripping and kept me on edge for the entire experience. I love naughty dog’s work, let’s hope they keep it going into the PS5 era!

SPOILERS AHEAD So I'm not one of the people that hate this game and for the record I have a non binary sibling whom I'm supportive of but there are issues with the LGBTQ writing in this game being forcefully injected. It just isn't remotely smooth in a lot of places. What are the chances that in a world twenty five years into the death of mankind that a gay character and an openly LGBTQ ever character cross paths? Even then I think the game goes a step into beating you over the head with it. In Last Of Us 1 Bill being gay was extremely subtle by comparison and it wasn't forcefully interjected because that's one part of who he is and his sexuality is not nor should be the defining characteristic about his character. You could completely miss it. I think Lev went a step too far not in the character itself but in the writing. I think Lev being trans would have been better if it had been left to the comments the enemies make as the main implication. Leave it to the player to either figure out what happend to Lev solely on enemies refereing to Lev as Lily once or twice or let them be incredibly confused. Honestly that's how it usually seems to go down with my LGBTQ friends in real life and would have been brilliantly representative. Unless they came out to someone specifically a lot of the time with my LGBTQ friends people either pick up on subtlety and figure it out or they don't and are confused.

This turns the game world grey with friendlies appearing bright blue enemies bright red and all collectibles yellow. Do this just as you leave an area to make sure you haven't missed anything. Also you can feed enemies to clickers just grab them and walk towards a clicker once it is in range the clicker will grab the enemy and eat them,you can feed runners to them as well.

I play this game just to break all the glass and kill all the dogs. I thought all the dogs were German shepherds but I came across a different dog just before I reached hospital to find Nora. I miss opening locked doors with shivs and the shiv glitch helped too. :)

I don’t think it’s a bad game, a solid 7/10,. The game isn’t a 10, and it’s certainly not a 1. it just failed the impossible task of meeting expectations set by the first. It would be a near perfect game if they took away the 10 hours with Abby, and have a series of vignettes with Abby, no longer than 5 to 10 minutes each, starting with the death of her father, perhaps a few more with her tracking down Joel, and then witnessing the aftermath of Ellie’s vengeance in Seattle. I found myself for a good hour in the mid game point eagerly waiting to go back to the theatre before realising that I would be playing with Abby for the foreseeable. Also get rid of any efforts to humanise her, she should be as dark, damaged and broken as Joel was in the first one. Being scared of heights doesn’t make a monster a human.

Stevie Mac23 I would have preferred the Abby 10 hours to be a prequel type game released a year or six months before Part 2, where we have no idea who she was, and then could have learned about the Wolves and the Scars, could have hinted that Joel killed her father without outright saying it, could have had a parallel relationship between Abby and Lev, with the backdrop of Ellie’s antics in Seattle, her and her group being attacked and picked off by an unknown trespasser and then the game ends with Abby approaching the theatre, or a flashback to them finding Jackson. It would have built hype of the last of us 2’s story, given us a more streamline narrative focusing on Ellie, and not had so much immediate outrage.

4 year revival! I just started playing it over the weekend and was using melee to break open the glass containers. I didn't notice if this damages the weapon at all. I tried to throw a brick at a glass vending machine or something of that nature and it didn't work. That surprised me. I really don't want to have to use ammo on them.

I wish there were more things hidden inside vehicles, behind smashable windows. I’d say maybe .5% of vehicles had something in them, which seems like a wasted possibility. Also, after playing the first playthrough without it and switching it on for the second, i absolutely love using the “slow motion when aiming” feature. It makes a sneaky playthrough so much more viable and enjoyable. Then again, I could see why some people might view this as “cheating”, but to each his own. It feels natural in the game and honestly how it should’ve been off the rip. Lastly, I’ve been experimenting with playing without an HUD, and it’s pretty awesome. The way the game is set up (with everything being visible on Ellie/Abby), it’s actually possible to play this way and pretty enjoyable.

For the record there's a reason to shoot a grabbed enemy. You burn a bullet but it's faster and you get a defense boost just like sprinting away so you're much less likely to take damage. Not sure how the boost works duration wise it could just be the first shot against you in a period of time or a short duration but it seems to be duration. It's useful in survivor situations where you have the ammo and are seen by three enemies but only have time to kill one of them before your meat shield breaks free. Or if you have the ammo in general and still have an enemy.

Heeeeyx you don't need to waste a bullet with vending machines. Just give it a melee attack. Ellie will use the back end of whatever weapon she's got (Or her knife), and (Spoiler? ) can so something similar.

I need help. I'm playing easy+ permadeath by chapter and I died at the Gate from a fall. When I respawned at the start and got back to the gate I picked up everything again but I noticed that the game took my 3 molotovs and 2 out of 4 smokebombs from me that I made in Jackson. They were there before I died. So I restarted the chapter but when I checked my supplies all my crafting material were all gone and all my ammo was missing except 3 shotgun shells 28 silent assault riffle bullets and 4 arrows and the 2 smokebombs stayed put. WTF is happening is this a glitch.

@@webhead4414 Whether you sympathise or not with her character it gives Ellie and the other characters in the game a motive, without her story arc and general existence in the game what would the last of us 2 even be about? Tommy would have no need to sneak through Seattle nor would Ellie feel so strongly about her actions etc. Equally, if Ellie just found Abby and just killed her and thats it, the game is over how would that make the story any more remarkable or unique? Naughty Dog has envouqed an emotional response from you towards Abby's character and therefore succeed in making the story interesting. Regardless if you like her or not, it at least shows the workings of these factions and their setups in the world and how they are surviving and by what morals they each believe in. And as you said, gameplaywise both characters generally play and control the same other than a few weapons so that's not the issue. All in all, without the characters and story that has been presented to you what would the last of us 2 been about at all if none of them existed?
