Or, there was that one episode where we find out Meg wears a wedding dress and murders people. They could have Bonnie reveal she has experience dealing with situations like that. And then have an episode of Bonnie and Meg going on a killing spree. Like there's so much fun stuff they could do with these small things.

The thing I find really sad about the modern depictions of Hades is that of the three brothers, he was the least dickish. He seemed to genuinely care for his wife and remained faithful to her, Even the whole "Kidnapping Persephone" is framed as a misunderstanding in many versions of the myth. He also only really messed with mortals that were trying to infiltrate or escape his realm. By the standards of Greek mythology, he was a pretty chill dude.
@liviwaslost Жыл бұрын
I understand why people say that about hades, but the myth represents the grief of mothers after their daughters were stolen from them. It shows a time period where men would kidnap young girls to be their wives. Plus, hades literally drugs Persephone.
@christopherbrown6322 Жыл бұрын
@liviwaslost the myth is literally the explanation of the seasons. In the versions I refer to, Hades approaches Zeus (father of Persephone) and asks for her to be his wife. Zeus consents. As far as Hades is aware, when he brings Persephone to the underworld everything is above board. He also didn't drug her, Hades gave her fruit. A pomegranate, a fruit sacred to Aphroditie, representing fertility an marriage

@@christopherbrown6322 With that in mind, what's your perception of the Beast in the original Beauty and the Beast fairy tale, where the Merchant trades his daughter, because Belle's father took the Rose from the Beast's garden, when he could've asked for it... and the rest of the story, the Beast keeps asking Belle to be his wife. I just don't know what to make of it, since Phelan Porteus (or Phelous for short) keeps mocking the fairy tale.

@robbiewalker2831 Жыл бұрын
@@christopherbrown6322 Well, I was saying this from the perspective of how the story is viewed, or the intention it provides. The Merchant lost a lot of wealth because of the misfortune in cargo deliveries through ships. The Beast was giving the Merchant hospitality, but the Merchant is unaware of his presence. The Beast revealed himself when, again, the Merchant took the rose from the Garden, forgetting that it's private property. Although Beast threatened the father to exchange one of his daughters to pay for the rose, his threats turn out to be meaningless when he apologized to Belle for his behavior; since he's mostly passive aggressive, compared to Disney's Beast who is active aggressive.

@@dawn4383 I knew who he was, because my first introduction to him was Hades in Disney and I was a 90s kid. However, upon learning more about him while growing up, I am SHOCKED that James Woods got to flawlessly play his normally dickish self on Family Guy. XD Most conservatives I've met are just a-holes by default anyways, so NO surprise here. Once I found out his party and read about some of the crap he's said, it ALL clicked. I don't care if his I.Q is supposedly 180. Also, I honestly believe Seth McFarlane doesn't really like Woods and wrote him to be the most (realistically) a-holish prick imaginable in his show, but just to tell the world how he feels about him. Of course, Woods wouldn't see this, and gladly jumped in to play himself to the letter, because that's how his type rolls. I'm just pee'd off that in Family Guy, a young innocent girl was sacrificed to bring his character back to life, which, if you ask me, is a completely GOP thing to do anyway. Very in character of him.
@RanterInShades Жыл бұрын
I always thought that Death on the show was based on Woods' performance as Hades, and so I have a headcanon that having the high school named after him and having him on the show was Seth MacFarlane's way of saying he's a big fan of Hercules. To which I give him the biggest high five because that movie is a banger.
I do wish that family guy did one last episode of James Woods. Maybe this one should be about how he got blacklisted from Hollywood because of his out of control Tweets on Twitter. Both Brian and Peter sees this as a chance to get back at James Woods for all that he did to them.

2:36 I love that movie and I’m also a history nut. But I think the reason hades works so well was he stole the Effing show, he was like Scar except he was good through the whole thing(sorry but scar was good for like 1/3 the time he was on screen the rest was very meh). Hades was just perfect(and is my second favourite interpretation of Hades….first being Percy Jackson and the lightening thief but that’s just because I like the angle and I saw that film a day after I saw Avatar and needed a palette cleanser for the terrible movie(I hated avatar)). Hades and Meg are two of my favourite Disney characters, probably like 6th and 9th with Meg being my more preferred character but that’s just cause I liked the jaded angle she brought. The film definitely got the mythology wrong(but I mean hunchback of notre dame changed a lot since the book it’s based on is a very tricky thing to adapt for children, in some ways the hunchback of notre dame is probably the only live action disney remake I’d want to see so long as they were a bit more faithful to the book). Sorry I completely went off my original point but James woods definitely did great voicing hades.

35:51 To answer your question from what I recall when my wife and I were down in Los Angeles twice in 2022 but the first time we were down there we went to go see the Hollywood sign It didn't really feel like a huge waste to see it we got a very nice view of it unobstructed by other people and right by to some kind of theater where there's performances and stuff but we didn't stay for that. So I don't know it might depend on your perspective and you might be able to disappoint that all you're doing is looking at a sign but if you look around you also get a good view of Los Angeles from kind of far looking down at the city from the mountains. Granted honestly the city of Los Angeles isn't beautiful at all. The buildings are kind of generic and there's nothing really that stands out. Unlike in Seattle that has that space needle. When it comes to Mount Rushmore the last time I was there I was really young it was in the mid-90s I was either six or seven years old so my memory is a lot more vague of it but I do remember liking seeing it. It was nice that they pointed these bright lights at it so we could actually see it even better when it got dark. I recall that the people who worked there were describing the history of Mount Rushmore but it was so long ago that I don't remember a single word they said though. And here's some random trivia I accidentally happened upon when my wife and I were down in LA and we were looking up how to get to the Hollywood sign itself and various different results showed up including something saying that it's illegal to climb the Hollywood sign, and I'll just take it that why would I ever do that first of all, but secondly when I saw Peter Griffin standing on it in your video even though I had seen this episode some time ago, it just immediately made me think about that law.

Okay I'm going to be honest I had no idea James woods was being such a loon on Twitter. What I heard was he willingly chose to just not be on the show at all because of the Donald Trump episode, but perhaps that had nothing to do with it. And what's wrong with Justin Roiland? What happened to him just proves that Warner Bros is the dumbest film company in the world. They fired Johnny Depp without any evidence to the accusations of his ex and then in a court of law it was proven that she defamed him, and then Warner Bros fire Justin roiland again over false accusations and again in a court of law he was acquitted. I choose not to watch Rick and Morty anymore because I'm just tired of how Warner Bros handles these things and I can't help but just have my mind that oh yeah they screwed up again and they fired somebody before having any evidence of what they were accused of. They are too stupid to learn their lesson and wait for their day in trial first. This is why I appreciate Dior because they didn't actually do anything at all but then once Johnny Depp won his court case then they gave him a new contract. They literally waited until the trial happened and was over before actually doing anything. That's what these companies should be doing instead of caving into Twitter pressure by people who are just angry and don't actually have all the facts.
