Magnificent. Gorgeous. Delicious. Breath Taking. Temptress. Amazing. So damn talented. No one could ever reprise this role. Ever. It was written for her. And only she could perform it with the conviction it deserves. Unmatched and Unequaled. God I love her ❤️

This is a pure classic. Fosse's choreography is totally original, and his muse Verdon is - irresistible! And she can sing and act, too, while slinkily executing all the weird Fosse moves. He was at his best in Pajama Game. Later he simply became - unfortunately, corrupted. His purity in the fifties was his best work.

Fosse's other favorite dancer, Carol Hayney was in Pajama Game. She was the main dancer in the Steam Heat and Hernando's Hideaway number

I'm with you on his best work. Saw Pajama Game done by a touring company in the 60s, and "Steam Heat" just rose above everything else in the show--clever, sexy, original. But he became a legend in his own mind and played to the fan base--a self-caricature after awhile.

When I was very young, one of the local TV stations would have a movie they would repeat through the week. That was how I was introduced to this musical and my parents also had the sound track record. It remains one of my favourite musicals both stage and movie.

@@sharpeslass5452 I don't think MzMantiz was trying to be insulting. She added the "heehee" so that tells me her comment wasn't meant to hurt anyone, in my opinion. I'm a lesbian and have heard "what a waste" all my life. I could always tell when someone was being insulting or just complimentary when saying that. I don't think it's any biggie when someone is being flattering or nice about it. Just my 2 cents.

Sports + musical + fantasy = unique.
