I love the fact of how perfect the camerawork is, only moving to enhance the number, but letting you see Gwen being her glorious self. If done today, there would be tons of editing and camera angles, with so much busyness one would miss the essence of the performance.

This is a pure classic. Fosse's choreography is totally original, and his muse Verdon is - irresistible! And she can sing and act, too, while slinkily executing all the weird Fosse moves. He was at his best in Pajama Game. Later he simply became - unfortunately, corrupted. His purity in the fifties was his best work.

@@sharpeslass5452 I don't think MzMantiz was trying to be insulting. She added the "heehee" so that tells me her comment wasn't meant to hurt anyone, in my opinion. I'm a lesbian and have heard "what a waste" all my life. I could always tell when someone was being insulting or just complimentary when saying that. I don't think it's any biggie when someone is being flattering or nice about it. Just my 2 cents.

This is one my all-time favorite musicals. And you have it in Stereo. My family would rush around the TV when it came on Million Dollar Movies in the Los Angeles area in the 60s. I've waited so many years to hear it in Stereo. Thanks.

Yes, the entire score was recorded in stereo, but this is the first time anyone ever matched it to the mono film!

@@jamesduggan7200 ...i say unique in that " a regular "Joe" sells (almost) his soul to the devil to become a young sports figure, only to have the devils messenger, in the shape of a temptress , challenged (to get the job done), and become "two lost souls", with a righteous ending. Sports + musical + fantasy = unique.
