Rockstar wasted an opportunity considring the fact that Scott Hill was willing to return for GTA 5 while Micheal Holick, an actor of a character we all loved didn't. Johnny could've been a boss for the desert missions instead we're just killing the local gangs. Terry and Clay's deaths were shit too because they die from a single shoot in the chase, that's why I prefer killing them in the camp, at least there they fight you back but not with extereme force. Plus if Johnny was the same character in V he could've been a great anatgonist, I would've prefered that instead of the way he was killed and instead of those forgettable Triads who barely had a role. I mean we met them early in the game and then receive numorus threats from them through Ron but they don't have much role.

I never really understood or took in what Johnny was doing to get Ashley off drugs because it had been so long since I had played TLAD but after seeing what happens in GTA V at first I thought "Man, Trevor just killed a protagonist!" and after watching this I then realized that technically Johnny killed himself by always getting involved with Ashley and it was at this moment that Ashley no longer had that Knight in Shining Armor. Man, Johnny will always be my favourite GTA character. Not only because he's a biker, but because I can relate to him on so many levels. I've always had girls like Ashley around me, fucked up girls with lots of issues that end up screwing us both... When Trevor killed him that shit seriously hit me hard. Holy fuck it's Johnny! And seconds later he goes out in such a horrible way... And then I have to take control of Trevor and kill Clay, Terry and all of the Lost MC, after growing to love them playing countless hours of TLAD. Meth killed Johnny K. The Johnny we know would have fucked up "Trevor Phillips Industries" big time after finding out Trevor was banging Ashley. But that wasn't Johnny K, just a ghost of himself. Johnny and The Lost MC died with their clubhouse in Alderney, a tragic end, "The Lost And Damned". Trevor put them out of their misery. R.I.P Johnny K, Lost, but not forgotten.

In the entirety of TLAD Johnny never does any drugs and TLAD ends with him telling Ashley to essentially fuck off, yet in gta 5 Him and Ash are frail Meth heads. Oh, that's exactly what it was. Shock value. Nothing more. Upon retrospect, Johnny ending up with Ashley again makes no sense considering he basically cuts off contact with her at the end of TLAD. He was also always strong willed, he kept off meth. GTA V's scenario with Trevor is nothing more than a contrivance to make Trevor seem like a seriously dangerous and potent man. And it's no coincidence that they used Johnny specifically in this sequence. Johnny was essentially the toughest, most intimidating GTA protagonist in the series up until that point. They chose to have Trevor kill and emasculate him specifically because it would make Trevor seem as though he was on an entirely different level of depraved, even though the rest of the game establishes it far better. Johnny's death was nothing more than a cheap way of building up Trevor as a force to be reckoned with even though he was a pretty poor character overall.

It’s just extremely poor writing from rockstar to to go against everything that happened in TLAD and do a complete 180 on Johnny’s character. You know, when I first played GTA4 with Johnny I mostly liked him for the whole biker aesthetic and his jacket is badass. Now after watching this video I realize I relate a lot to how this guy deals with his friends and his inner conflicts a lot more than I ever imagined. I still like Niko a lot too but idk, this just really hit home a lot with me. I really hate that Rockstar killed off a character that you spent so much time getting to know and have deep feelings playing with and remembering all of the cool shit you did with him back on GTA4. Johnny may have been weak for Ashley and made mistakes in his past, but we all do. We all have that one girl or habit that breaks us and keeps us coming back for more. After this video I no longer have any respect for Trevor, I understand he's not a real person and that its ultimately the writers choice but goddamn dude, those stomps on Johnny felt like stomps on my heart watching that. RIP Johnny K, you're a fucking badass and one of the greatest GTA protagonists to be in the series. Grind on

Johnny and Ashley remind me a lot of a “relationship” I had back in high school, always getting in trouble with other abusive guys and dealers. Getting calls every couple days about a guy who had stolen her wallet or had something of hers and needed me to go grab it. Playing through these missions is tough for me since it reminds me of those times, you wanna help so bad but they can only help themselves.

Ashley actually brought Johnny to his doom. After his death, there's no one to look after her or save her, which leads to her death later in GTAV from Weezel News (considering if you didn't kill her by Trevor after Johnny's death). Also, his death was actually warned about Ashley in GTA4 TLotD, which later happens in GTAV. A sad tragedy of Johnny, Ashley and The Lost gang. Come to think of it, she actually brought The Lost gang down unintentionally.

That's total disrespect of GTA 4 Character. In my opinion they shouldn't have killed Johnny. He was the toughest guy in GTA 4 (at least I think that). This character should remain in side missions. And to be realistic Johnny's character here and in GTA 4 is completely different. Here he is dead because of stupidity and naivety and it seams weird, how could so tough and experienced Mobster could trust somebody, cry in the arms of his rival after he fucked his girl? That must discrepancy in the Rockstar Scenario. It would be better not to show him in GTA 5 like Louis Lopez. They knew fans would be upset, but they needed to know the world of GTA. People die and nothing changes. Strong people become weak and may die in vein. You need to move on and face the facts. Yes Johnny ended TLAD with a promise but ultimately it was broken. He turned out to be an even worse leader than Billy, even though he had a bigger ambition. Traveling to Southern San Andreas where the Lost started to fade with infighting and drug use and struggling to compete. Like Trevor said, he was weak for Ashley even though it seemed he left her at the end of TLAD, he continued to stay which led to his horrible death over her.

This whole storyline killed me. Johnny's story. R* made it so tragically beautiful. They showed that the main characters , although "immortal" to us and heroic because of what they live through (while we play them) aren't actually immortal and heroic and can die just as easily and senselessly as the people we've killed in every GTA game. I just wish they didn't prove that point with Johnny because I really fucking loved him. I love mostly all my characters (of games i've played) but I admit Johnny was one that had a special place in my heart. No idea why, he just did. And when I saw him like that in GTA 5, it literally killed me to see that he let Ashley drag him down to that. He deserved so much fucking better. I know I can't blame Ashley for all of Johnny's using , but goddamit , she definitely was the MAIN reason. I mean , he had already lost everything. The Club, Jim, and let's be honest , Angus is probably 06 feet under now too. And the one guy he looked up to lost his goddamn mind and soul in heroin and betrayed everything he stood for. That killed him--killed his soul. He was lost and looking for the only thing familiar to him that was there when he had nothing more to hang on to from his former life. That was Ashley. I literally had to stop fucking playing GTA 5 for like 02 days after what Trevor did to him and throughout all of GTA5 I swore on everything that if I had the chance, I would kill Trevor.... When the time came to make that choice though, I didn't. I didn't betray Michael or Trevor. I said , as Franklin (obviously) , and I was certain C would involve Franklin dying. But I said , if I'm gunna' die , I'm gunna' die being loyal. Because I saw how Johnny wasn't Johnny anymore. And even though I hated Trevor for what he did to him, I was somewhat relieved because that wasn't Johnny. The crystal had him just as it had Ashley and I just couldn't be okay with Johnny living the way he was anymore. He deserved so much better. And he's the 02nd Johnny that will always hold a special place in my heart--right next to Mr. John Marston. ^_^

Loop Set Absolutely right. It's no coincidence that Johnny, the series' most physically imposing protagonist, was Trevor's first notable victim. It's also no coincidence that Trevor was fucking his ex-girlfriend of all people. The scene establishes that Trevor, our newest protagonist, is not only ballsy enough to fuck Johnny Klebitz' girlfriend, but also batshit insane enough to intimidate him into submission. The icing on the cake is that Trevor kills Johnny in a very sudden, dirty manner. It establishes Trevor as a cut above the rest in a very quick and efficient manner. It's just a shame that this admittedly clever introduction sequence had to come at the expense of the canonicity of TLAD's ending. Oh well, GTA V ended up having a pretty terribly written story underneath the excellent presentation so I have no issues in considering it non canon whenever I play GTA IV. Besides, you can tell that Rockstar shoehorned in the TLAD references into GTA V. These events clearly weren't planned out from the development of TLAD so they're ultimately very fragile and should be taken with a grain of salt.
