First off...you have no idea what the speed limit is on that road. He seemed like he was going the speed limit for the highway. Second, the other guy had zero reason to be getting in the left lane right there, and he clearly wasn't paying attention to the other drivers on the road since he very blatantly shoved the recording driver off the road. THIRD you have no idea how hard the recorder hit the breaks before he was so blatantly shoved off the road. That truck could have not gotten over going 10-20 mph under the speed limit (which is actually what it seemed like to me) and going that much slower than traffic/the speed limit is already a dangerous thing to do on highways. No, I don't know the speed limit, either, but I do live in a very similar rural country area like that and can take a guess that it was at least 65. The person in the green truck was probably going about 45-50. Get off your high horse, please. You're probably someone who drives like half these idiots, with that attitude.

I can't speak to this particular situation, but there are times when cyclists are better off riding in the middle of a lane, for safety. If there is insufficient space for a car to pass without driving the bicycle into the dirt, then moving to the right just invites being run off the road. Once there is a clear space again - an open shoulder or another lane - then I would move over to make it easier for the car drivers. Same process as a motor vehicle unable to drive at the speed of traffic, really. You move over when it's safe, and not before.

If it's a panic situation, that is not an excuse to drive like a moron. Panicking doesn't make it right to do. I'm an OTR contractor and I have been cut off more times (and seen them do it to others) by Tesla drivers and seen them doing things such as this more times than I've ever seen a regular automotive owner do. Saw a Porsche 911 GT3 driver do it about a month ago, but that is the first Porsche driver I've ever seen doing something like that. The Tesla itself is a fine vehicle, it's the mindset behind the wheel that is in question. You defending their actions says a lot about and you may be a Tesla driver.
