Considering the OceanGate sub imploded and everyone died instantly, and that was nowhere near as deep as the Mariana Trench, I'd say it's pretty easy to deduce what would happen.
@MelaninCosplay5 ай бұрын
Hey there. I have a question. Didn't the sub explode bc it malfunctioned and starred dropping too fast? I know the lower you go, the higher the pressure, but if they were able to take their time and go slowly, would they have made it? What is your opinion/thoughts?
@LimeGuy1015 ай бұрын
@@MelaninCosplay It was poorly made from shoddy materials, they made a couple of successful dives to the Titanic but the craft had developed minor stress fractures which lowered the integrity of the capsule. They were not aware that there was any issue until the fateful dive. There is a transcript of the communication between Stockton Rush (The CEO who was onboard) and the surface team. If I remember correctly, they descended about halfway to the Titanic wreckage before they began hearing a cracking noise. Stockton communicated this and they decided to head towards the surface. As they were surfacing the cracking intensified before communication was lost. They were in the process of surfacing as the submersible imploded. It wouldn't have mattered how slowly they descended, the craft was built incorrectly and was not going to withstand those depths for multiple dives. It was doomed from the beginning.

It's like Chase is some kind of SCP (Safe class) that is employed by the foundation to explore these deadly places as a lab rat of sorts. The purpose is to see what would happen to a human being. But being and SCP himself, Chase is always recovered by the foundation and regenerates his body to explore another day. The thing is though, he's way too chatty to experiment with the other SCP's. So he is kept away and unaware of them. He's an immortal SCP but also similar to a D-class who gets sent into dangerous places.

I think the show Futurama already covered this. Basically a spaceship is only meant to withstand an atmosphere is worth of pressure whereas that far beneath the ocean can multiply up to thousands and thousands worth of atmospheres of pressure. Comparing a submarine to a spaceship is not how this is done both of them are entirely and completely different.

Man, Chase is so polarizing - but count me in as another one of his big fans. >w< He's such a cocky bastard, but I love him for it. And can you really blame him, though? Since, as another commenter somewhere once pointed out, he's basically Kenny from classic South Park? But IN SPACE! (On a more real note though, who does his voice? I HAVE to know. He also kind of gives me vibes of young Prince Alexander from the 2015 King's Quest reboot - but I'm guessing that's NOT Alexander Polinsky. Especially since this is a Canadian production too. ಠ_ರೃ) So yeah, don't pay too much mind to the haters. Your content is always awesome and incredibly interesting - from the far reaches of space to the sea and sky and everything in between. Love the animation, the writing, the pacing, the scoring, the whole thing, every time.❤I never forget for a minute why I subbed to this channel.
