On Mercury's night side, you wouldn't actually freeze that fast. Because Mercury's atmosphere is negligible, convection wouldn't occur and your body would only be able to lose heat to radiation, which is a much slower process. Being on the night side would be comparable to being on the Moon - pretty survivable in a spacesuit.
@mattstakeontheancients759418 сағат бұрын
That was my thought. It’s a space suit and it be about as cold as being on the moon.

I think Chase should try surviving in the fourth dimension. It’s a place that could potentially make you feel lightheaded, disoriented, and even pass out. That would most likely be due to the unknown new forces from the fourth dimension. In our 3D reality, leave adapted to benefit from the horses in our dimension. Gravity, wind, temperature, etc, but the forces in the fourth dimension could be so unknown that they’re much more complex and stranger than even what zero gravity would feel like at the edge of the universe. Chase would probably get lightheaded and disoriented instantly, during just the first second of leaving the third dimension and entering the fourth dimension. Everything that he would see in this 4D reality would most likely really psychologically mess with him. Imagine seeing a bunch of different versions of yourself. Each version of your self doing a different thing, feeling a different emotion, and being a different age. The 4D inhabitants of the fourth dimension would most likely almost guarantee notice you given the abilities that 4D beings would most likely have. They would’ve known that you’re coming, along with a bunch of other things in the future during their childhood. Everything in the fourth dimension would likely pulse wildly. Everything the fourth dimension would also likely change color, warp, stretch shift and change shape in ways that are impossible. If these 4D inhabitants didn’t use their intelligence in time to allow Chase’s body to benefit from the forces of the fourth dimension, he would likely pass out quickly.
@michaeldebidartКүн бұрын
Nah we technically already live in the space 4D occupies we just have no way to perceive or interact with it.
@DylanS201023 сағат бұрын
We live in a 3D reality that surrounded by a 4D reality. Even though our 3D reality is within the 4D reality, we’re stuck within the 3D reality. So imagine getting yanked out out of the 3D reality that we live in and experience and see the 4D reality that surrounds our home 3D reality.
@michaeldebidart23 сағат бұрын
We would only be able to get experience it in 3D slices of 4D space. Just like if you took a 2 dimensional being and plucked it into 3D space it would still only be able to process it 2 dimensionally.
@DylanS201023 сағат бұрын
It looks like I haven’t managed to convince you yet. Try searching up on KZbin the Flatland movie and watch the scene in the movie where the main 3D character interacts with the main 2D character, and then eventually yanks the main 2D character out of Flatland. After that entire scene, the movie shows what the main 2D character is seeing out of his eyesight, in first person.
@DylanS201022 сағат бұрын
I’ve even had moments where I’ve felt like I experienced ripples from the fourth dimension. It felt like the feeling of being lightheaded. You might say that that was just due to low blood sugar, but no, the kind of lightheadedness I felt during those moments did not feel like low blood sugar. Unlike how lightheadedness caused by low blood sugar continues until you fixed the problem by increasing your blood sugar levels, this lightheadedness I felt during those moments was in a very strange way, different. It just came and then very quickly after it came, went away and then came again soon after and then went away again soon after.

Well, the longest spacewalk has been around 9 hours in extreme conditions. And if we're visiting other any celestial body with a solid surface and atmospheric pressure within the limits of current spacesuit technology (e.g., 0-17.4 psi) we could expect spacesuits to last at least that long.
