It wasn't really planned by him doing an album. He didn't even want to play music after Kurt died, at least I think he said something like that in some interviews. But then he started recording and because he had no band he did it all alone. Then the demos started circeling and he published it without changing much.

Scott Pilgrim is f*cking classic..... Pick of Destiny is pretty funny, but simplistic. Scott Pilgrim has so many layers. I think I saw it about 10x before I understood everything. Rock music, anime, comicbook and gaming culture. Something for every form of nerd.

The song “tribute” by tenacious D is actually a song singing about the rock off with the devil in this film, but they “couldn’t remember” the song they sang so they sang tribute, in real life tribute came out before the film so they obviously just made the film ending fit their old song but it’s cool how they basically made the music video for their own old song the unofficial “sequel” to their own movie lol

This is their best song imo. Beelzebub (Be-EL-ze-bub not Bezzleboss). Beelzebub is the devil and Beelzeboss is the final boss of the movie. Satan is played by Dave Grohl from Foo Fighters and drummer in Nirvana, He probably has the most cameos/guest appearances in modern rock.
