Every time I hear this I wish we had choices of multiple thumbs-up .. one just isn't enough. She's signed with Republic, Dave. As is Beyonce and Sam Smith and and and .. They made a special deal with Angelina and her family. They asked that she is not put out in the music business until she's done with her school, which is sometime this year, I think. Meanwhile, they do covers with her in studio and give her latitude for her to use tiktok and Instagram as she wishes. She has certainly made use of both! If you haven't seen any of her tiktoks, they are worthy, Dave, really .. even if they're short. She's amazing. There is a recent one of House of the Rising Sun which she taped at 5am when she was fooling around with her guitar. It will surprise you .. I promise. She's also done a very recent My Funny Valentine (she did a wonderful one at 10 years old from a couch in her house, mic in hand ..) and this one is mind-blowing because you truly get to hear how extremely stunning her voice is turning out. I believe there is one video that has both .. the early and the recent .. and that is worth seeing for sure. I don’t think she actually did this demo for Baby Fuzz because he actually did his own demo which he later released after he got no interest for the song. The people Angelina was working with on her song “Shield” had her do this demo, I’m not sure of their motion at the time, because Baby Fuzz was at the same writing camp at the time, maybe they worked with him too. I get the feeling that they never even approached Angelina to acquire the rights for this song, but I think they knew it could be a hit, so they leaked it on KZbin, but this is why there is such controversy over the song and it’s leaked release. I think that if Republic Records was interested enough they could acquire the rights and Angelina could change it to her satisfaction and it could be released, then everyone evolved would benefit, since Baby Fuzz’s release of the song was a flop!

I’m not sure why the video you watched had only 200,000 views, but this song is right at the top of the list for those of us who are hardcore fans of Angelina. I think I’ve probably watched it about 100,000 times myself. It’s stunningly good. Not only do Angelina’s vocals so beautifully deliver this song, but it’s a ten year old leading us through this sad, melancholic theme. I don’t know if it’s good or bad not seeing the video performance in the studio. I love watching Angelina sing, but the emotional impact of this song is so strong that watching it come from a young child just does not compute. It’s one of her best.

Angelina's family missed a great opportunity to turn the recording industry on its head. Rather than sign with a label, they could have easily gone rogue and kept her independent. Finding investors to cover the cost of production would have been extremely simple, and all of the rewards, other than repaying investors, would have gone to Angelina. Why would it have been important? Because it would've opened the door very wide to other independent artists and wrested away the monopolistic control of the big labels. The music industry has been gravely detrimental to the creativity and originality of the artists and the music they're supposed to represent.

@@poolhallshark in one respect, I agree with you. I feel, however, that she was cheated and it was due to her song choice. After she got the golden buzzer for Bohemian Rhapsody, she should have switched lanes and done something different. There are plenty of contestants who were wonderfully talented. The mistake they all made was making every song after that sound the same. Courtney Hadein killed it on her first showing. After that,she should have shown how well she can sing 'softer' songs. She has a wonderful voice, but railroaded herself, and it cost her. Just my opinion. I do believe,however,winning AGT would have opened up the American market more. As unbelievable as it sounds, there are many people on KZbin who do res turn videos and are hearing her for the first time. She's already a seasoned pro and has been known for many years, already. 😉😊

(I've heard the Views number was skewed because several vidoes were taken down and finally it was left up. I don't know if the 'take downs' were family related - that's what we've been led to believe because of the 'mature subject matter'. If that was true, I think the family should release this now and ask the LEAKED video be removed - thus reducing count-numbers, of course. But I think in years ago, that number will explode.) I hope in her years ahead, this will be a live-performance gem she trots out to blow the roof off again, and again and again. Natural Talent sung with pure heart and a Love of music. All that wrapped up in her confidence to share her joy with others. She is a pure joy. She is a genuine talent but is so humble and real. I'm not, I see this little girl come out and at 7 she humbles the Music industry by reminding people what real Music sounds like, Then she Shamed them by covering stuff they are doing now and she does it Better. As the fennel thing. She takes the crown of Queen of Music and does it 15 years old by writing her own Song Million Miles. For me Million miles also should be taken by the rest of the Music industry, those that put on that Horror fest they called the 2020 Grammy awards as a statement for how fare Below the bar of excellence they have fallen. Ten year old Angelina already displays that she has a much larger and more comprehensive vocal tool box and color palette than most adult veteran singers do. Her maturity level is decades beyond a person her age. Her hyper sensitive intuition, feel and emotional connection with the lyrics is unmatched. Many feel this is the most unique performance she has ever done, and that includes taking into account her powerful version of 'I Put A Spell On You'. Had her mom allowed this to be released, it would have been a #1 song, for sure. Her mom didn't like the lyrics that described a drowning suicide and put the 'kabosh' on it.

I believe Angelina recorded 1 or 2 other versions of this demo in London & this was the last recording, 1 week before her 11th Birthday. We don't know for sure, who or why, but someone on Angelina's team didn't like the overtones of suicide at the end, although Baby Face says it is not about suicide. He finally recorded the "original" a couple of years later with a similar arrangement. He has stated that he never heard Angelina's version until after he had recorded it himself. To get the full story, I guess we will have to wait for her 1st Biography. Nice reaction, Dave, this is a top 10 if not #1 for most "Angels."

Andy Schnell posted, Personally I have given up trying to understand the story why this incredible performance was never officially released. There were a ton of comments on Jordan's (Schnell) last Angelina reaction concerning this song. I am reposting a couple comments which supposedly from people directly involved INCLUDING A COMMENT FROM BABY FUZZ. Devon replied on Schnell Jordan’s video on April 5, 2021.The following was posted by William Johnson on the subject: The thing about the lyrics being a problem with her family is just a rumor, and not why she didn't release it. And while she made several versions of this song, this one was recorded in 2017, just before she turned 11. Kent Nielsen, a friend of the writers and who knows Angelina's family, gives this information about this song, and also about "Shield": Your understanding of “Shield” seems to be everyone’s understanding. But like the John Legend rumor, this is a general misconception. I actually spoke with Ronny Janssen, one of the producers of “Shield” and he told me that the super talented, award-winning producer/songwriter Aksel Carlson wrote the song. Angelina had one line prior to the song being written “Forgive me for all that I am” and Aksel wrote the song from that. Ronny, Aksel and Frida also made the music (lyrics by Baby Fuzz) regarding “I’m still holding out for you”. I am aware of the stories and rumors surrounding this song too. However, I was told by Ronny (again) that her family actually wanted her to sing/release this song, but Ronny and Aksel spoke against it. Also, it was more of a stylistic issue, the song didn’t really fit well with Angelina. They did three recordings of this song, two in December of 2016 and the one that was leaked was recorded on January 3rd 2017. Regarding the lyrics, they already changed some for Angelina’s demo version... they could just as easily have changed the ending part too, if it was an issue. The reason it was taken down was because Angelina’s family had not been given permission to make the demo public, so when it was leaked, they had it removed due to risks of copyright infringements. But, Brandon (Baby Fuzz) really liked Angelina’s version, so he allowed it to stay on KZbin. All this information comes directly from everyone involved. I also spoke with Brandon Lowry (Baby Fuzz) about this song and he doesn’t seem to understand why there is any controversy surrounding the song. Angelina did the demo in 2017 and didn’t release it due to the song not being the right stylistic choice (which also could explain why she did not sing it again) Ronny and Aksel told Brandon that they did the demo with Angelina, but he wanted to record and release the song himself. There are many theories as to why it was "LEAKED", but it seems the original artist, Baby Fuzz, had only released a demo and it was never officially released. You can read his explanation below (from the video). Baby Fuzz 3 weeks ago Hey! I'm getting lots of messages about this tune so just thought I'd clear the air! So the song was written and produced by me and a few friends in Norway. It was pitched around possibly for another artist to record, and apparently Angelina cut this version around that time (when she was only 10 years old - impressive!). I never heard the demo, though, and we were never approached about her releasing it as far as I know. The song sat for a few years, and then I just decided to put it out with my original demo vocals on. I came across this version after it was out already, and I think it's super cool. Avicii did his suicide in April 2018, and Brandon Lowry`s original was released Nov. 30th 2018, almost 2 years after this demo. Lastly, I will say that the words about Janssen and Carlson not finding the song a good fit for Angelina, personally I find that hard to understand, and to believe. "Why was Ronny and Askel against the release, that seems to be the heart of the mess." Yes, exactly. And it might suggest that they were already heading down a trail that could lead to a conflict of rights. It might explain why they started Angelina's next project, Shield, straight away.

There is definitely SOMETHING about her singing THIS song. It's beyond description. It's truly a shame that it is not a staple of her well known songs. I think they would not allow her to alter lyrics that implied a suicide and it was deemed unacceptable by her people as something to have her name associated with. Not sure what she suggested as an alteration for that. But she is very good at that sort of thing (see her version of Back In Black). So this one was leaked to the public. I think it may arguably be one of her finest vocal performances. She really is OUTSTANDING here. Everyone should hear it.

This song could certainly top the charts if played on the radio. Imagine if Angelina re-recorded this song now, at 15+ years old, and re-released it. If it is even possible, she would sing this song even better now. But I don't know how she could improve upon her 10-year-old version. Thanks for your new wonderful reaction, Dave. This is surely one of the songs that Angelina sing best and amazingly and everyone would like it to be one of her songs. Her recording was occasional and brought with it a flood of comment and controversy when Baby FuzZ, who wrote the song, released his demo. Angelina recorded this demo at the age of nearly 11 (only!) and remains an amazing interpretation and it's wonderful to hear it. ❤️❤️ I personally love the scratched and grim version of Angelina's demo, much more than the final version of Lowry.

Love the reaction, Dave! I was going to comment on this yesterday, but life got in the way. Yes, this is Angelina at her best … at 10 years old. To answer your question, she signed with Republic Records/UMG. This song has so much speculation and rumor about it that it's hard to know the truth. However, the opinion held by many that her family objected to the lyrics seems unlikely. It refers to the last two lines of the song and the thought that it's about suicide. It really isn't. It's about taking a chance, even if it means possibly drowning. However, if the lyrics were a concern, she easily could have changed that bit. She did change another line in the song, "I been thinking ‘bout your crazy f***ing lies" got changed to "I been thinking 'bout you crazy all the time." So the lyrics issue, as I said, seems unlikely. The more probable issue is one of rights. As far as I know, Angelina never had permission to release the song. I don't know who "leaked" it, but somehow the audio did get leaked and a fan(?) got a copy and created the video you watched. Brandon Lowry (aka Sterling Fox, aka Baby FuzZ) wrote the song along with cowriters Aksel Carlson, Ronny Janssen, and Frida Amundsen while at a songwriting camp in Oslo in 2016. Lowery is a talented songwriter who has written multiple #1 hits and songs for the likes of Madonna, Britney Spears, Lana Del Ray, Avicii, Adam Lambert, Kylie Minogue, Bebe Rexha and many more. He tried to get big name artists to record it for two years, before actually recording and releasing it himself in 2018. Lowry says he never heard Angelina's version before he released his. Angelina recorded the audio for this as a demo at least a year before the Baby FuzZ release, so it really is not a cover. I don't know if this was a case of Angelina recording a song she heard and liked, or if someone asked her to do it. Angelina has reportedly said she would never sing the song again. The urban legend surrounding this will, no doubt live on, but you have to agree that this was remarkable. Thanks for the reaction.
