I am 70 years old, i have seen and heard a lot of the greats. None of them could come anywhere near the emtions this young lady evokes from me, i cry (yes, i am not ashamed to admit it) every time i listen to her. Not only does she sing absolutely beautifully, she writes songs, arranges the songs, is Norways youngest author, raises millions of dollars for childrens charities, and she turned 16 this year and feeds homeless people in Los Angelos where she has moved to. This young lady is one SPECIAL human being.

Dave, I'm sixty eight and she does the same to me. You and I living in the sixties and seventies we're exposed to great singers, songwriters and bands, weather supergroups or one hit wonders our ears were well conditioned to real good music and performers. Angelina is very very special for many reasons but that fact that she touches at a spiritual level is what gets to me. I'm not a religious man but I can't help but think Angelina is a divine gift.

This one is a rare occasion when the "cover" was done before the "original". Angelina recorded this demo in 2016 (at 10 years old), but it was never formally released. A couple years later the writer of the song Brandon Lowry (Baby Fuzz) decided to record the song himself. This song had a lot of controversy around it for a while because it was leaked without her permission. Some of the fans said it should not be played or shared, others said it was too good not to. The controversy eventually fell away from it, but one thing is certain... this one is a fan favorite, and one of Angelina's best vocals. It's hard to imagine how someone so young could come up with all the flavoring on this. ...and that vocal run at 14:20 is one of my favorite runs ever, just try to count the notes... it's so many notes in such a short time. It reminds me of a lead guitar solo or something.

@@mikaeljohansson7848 That's what I read too. The fast part at the end is about going to the river to "hold it down" (head under water). The slow part at the end with the moon is "in heaven". Of course other interpretations can be made too, but this looks the most obvious.

Hi. This was a song she recorded about 5 years ago when Angelina was 10 years old., but it wasn't released because her mother didn't like Angelina singing about suicide. The song was then given out by Baby Fuzz instead. It luckily leaked out on youtube 3 years ago and so far nobody knows who leaked it. But still, this version of the song is without doubt a youtube treasure. I love this song, but then again I love everything about Angelina. She is a natural gift to mankind that will make the world a better place. I really feel that Angelina is exactly what the world needs right now. Peace everyone. Stay strong.

Hello Jennifer. I'm 75 and it brings tears to my eyes every time I hear it. Because this song is a one take! She had received the melody on tape and the lyrics on a piece of paper. Her mother never wanted Angelina to sing it from the start. Too dark! As far as I know, she heard the melody twice and read the text two or three times without really noticing it. And what you hear here is what came out of it. At the end she almost screams and it almost got the better of her. At the end she also said to her mother that she never wanted to sing this song again. I think she seems to have gotten over it lately and I would appreciate it if she included this song on her album.

I agree with you, @vikingballetnista7491, even if this is just a dream. And that's why I disagree with people (some reactors included) who say that, if we close our eyes during Angelina's earlier songs, we would think she was a singer over 50 years old. This doesn't happen, at all... because, even with all her mature technique, Angelina continues to have in her voice (at least until the age of 12) the sound characteristics of a child's voice.

I've seen this video about 5 times respect your skill and effort. There are some special circumstances surrounding the "Leaked" status of this song. The words were written by others, Angelina did the first cover then the one who wrote the song recorded it after. I guess they are both ok with every bit of it. I would think he should be proud of what Angelina did with it, its great.

Wonderful reaction, Jen. 10 years old is what I read. To add to the intrigue, I went to the BabyFuzz song three times now, and I swear I hear snippets of Angelina's voice embedded in that recording of the BabyFuzz release. Lots of electronic overlay, but I swear I hear his voice stop and hers is there. Has anyone else checked it out? I suspect, if her voice is really in there, that folks don't want too much poking going on, but I sure would like to know if I am correct in what I swear I hear. 💜

It’s hard for me to imagine a seasoned song writer writing for the likes of Madonna and Lana Del Ray sending one of his demos to a ten year old you’ll notice LEAKED she actually was the first to release the song or “leaked “ 11/2018 Baby FuzZ (Brandon Lowry) released it 12/2018 , the point is even at the age of 10 Angelina was a well respected up and coming artist by the music industry it’s not like Brandon Lowry is a new song writer he’s been around a long time a very seasoned writer. Not many of well known singers accomplished what Angelina Jordan Astar has over 1 Billion views on KZbin and 2 1/2 Billion views on Facebook and still only 16. When her parents finally give the go ahead to Republic Records she’s going to be a force in the industry.

There's so much soul in this track! Others have given the story of the song, so I'll just mention that I instantly fell in love with it the second I heard it. It's a well-written song with Angelina's quite miraculously emotional delivery elevating it to mega-hit quality. i’m going to describe her as a musical prodigy, Sia ranges, her music, and she writes a music, and she sang some music with soul and jazz and R&B. She creates on genre of music that touches the soul of all that here’s her she believes, and she feels what she singing, and that skill makes you feel what deep in your soul because she’s an old person wrapped with in a young persons body. She is always love jazz, Billie Holiday, and many others. There are many clips that her mother shows of her singing as early as the age of one, and as she got older, her love, the music grew more and more and more. So again, the only words that I can use to describe her is a musical prodigy and that’s not to take away from any of the artists, but she has a gift that no one can duplicate or replicate. I listen to many of these people that review her music and they try to hit the notes and try to tell you where she’s coming from but they never touch it as she does. Her style cannot be practically replicated! That’s just my opinion.❤

Excellent reaction and I know by now you know she was 10, which her talent isn't matched by anyone at that age! I mean no one, Elvis, Michael Jackson, Christina Aguillar or Beyonce, she is doing only what her voice will let her. Her knowledge is so far ahead of her voice which is hard to fathom for her voice is way beyond her years. This is one of Angelina’s best, I think, and that’s really saying something. She does so much with the colors and dynamics of her voice, but she does it so smoothly and naturally that we just get lost in the song. It’s hauntingly beautiful and sorrowful at the same time, and like always, Angelina delivers the message of the lyrics so effectively that we remember those sad moments in our own lives. Yeah, as you know by now, she was 10 for this recording. This was the age when I realized Angelina was not just the best child singer in history, but one of the best singers I’d ever heard. It took another year or two to remove any qualifiers-Angelina is the best singer I’ve heard in my 70+ years, and no one is close in second place.

Hi! Thank you for another very thoughtful analysis of an Angelina performance. Please ignore all comments why this wasn't released unless they are quite clear that neither Angelina, nor any member of her family, have commented upon this matter. Speculation as to why it was never released started shortly after this fan made video was released, and I have requested of those giving a "reason" to post the source for verification. Many of the 105 comments preceding this one have told you that Angelina was ten years of age when this was recorded. For reference, the little girl holding her hands to the moon is Angelina at that age. I am delighted that you treated the performance as if it was being sung by an adult and not a child. So many reactors cannot resist saying words like "she's so good for a child". In my estimation, she had lost all childishness in her voice by age ten. Your choice of the phrase "....and Angelina's just choosing..."is very pertinent. I have come to the realisation over the past nine years that nothing Angelina does is just a "fluke" . Her musicality is such that even if she does make an error, she can immediately change how she continues that one thinks what was an error was meant to be.

Say what you will, but you know as well as we do that there are untold numbers of seasoned adult vocalists that can only dream of achieving the level of vocal mastery that ten year old Angelina has. Angelina is of course a prodigy that also happens to be a bona fide musical genius. She has already accomplished more in her short sixteen years of age than most other vocalists will in their lifetimes.

The collaboration of various footage of AJ From ages 10-13 was put together over the years. Sources have it that the original song writer musician Baby Fuzz saw it ...liked AJ'S rein- edition of his song and was happy with it. It was leaked. When you close your eyes it still is unbelievable that a 10year old sang this song like a musical genius. SHE IS A LEGEND IN THE MAKING FOR SURE. And she is 16 now and her latest covers are PHENOMENAL.I'm no vocal coach...I know Great talent when I see and hear it. The way she projects herself is still at the tip of what is yet to come. Her stylistic approach to her phrasing of lyrics and techniques seem to be even more developing beautifully. I could only imagine what she will sound like when she is 20yrs old.

Excellent surprise reaction! Is it possible to imagine that a 10-year-old child would use so much technique in a song? I've heard this performance dozens of times and I always remember Mozart, keeping the historical references and influence in his time, but not the clear impression of genius, which can bring a lot of joy to humanity.

Great reaction, it looks like you really enjoyed that! Angelina just knows how to bend the words to make incredible sounds, she is indeed a fine musical instrument! Most of the clips and images here are from when she was 10 years old, apart from some from her song Shield when she was 12. Maybe there is a bit of a clue here, the co-writers of this song also were the co-writers for her song Shield. Angelina was almost 11 when she made this demo, perhaps it was not released because it was just too good? The time was not right for a stand alone number one hit... So, in 2018 she released her original Shield, her own story, show casing her mature vocals. Her move to LA caused a little pause, and having reached the public view in the USA with AGT Champions, the pandemic robbed her of the momentum she had strived to build. When her next album is released I would love to see this song, this performance (just as it was), along with some other new songs and old favourites. Well that is what I am holding out for...

I think it's inevitable that this recording will be revived and questions asked, regardless of the reasons for its suppression. Brilliant, absolutely brilliant reaction & great nerdy analysis of (10) Angie, Just the way we love it. “I'm Still Holding out for You” & the game of telephone. Here's the whole story. Please read. This was recorded when Angie was 10 almost 11 (it was used as a demo). The rumor was her mom (Sara) didn't like the suicide content references in the song so it was never released. This song is by Brandon Lowry better known as Sterling Fox & aka Baby Fuzz & co-writers Aksel Carlson, Ronny Janssen, and Frida Amundsen (& they have worked with Angie before). Baby fuzz did this during a music workshop back in 2016 in Norway, (for Angie is kind of like friends with Aksel Carlson, Ronny Janssen, and Frida Amundsen & they all know each other. For like I said they have worked together before, this is how Angie might of got the song for they were all at said work shop at different times) Here’s a little bit of what BF said about the song: “Now I’m super happy nobody else took it, because it feels 100% honest to what I was feeling at that time. A fun line in the second verse deals with impulsive swiping of potential Tinder matches. It’s not even to find someone to match with. It’s just a cyclical behavior of rejecting others in an attempt to affirm an old flame that will never work. It’s actually the whole idea of the song… I’m just delusionally holding out in some monk-like vow of abstinence and loyalty that is incredibly self-destructive”-BF (No one was interested at the time) then Angie did the demo for it in 2016 & it was leaked 2 years later in Nov 2018. (He wont change the lyrics to the song or let others do so). It's funny he released it as an original in Dec 2018 a month after Angie's was leaked. Brandon Lowery is a good writer & it shows in this song. His version is also good. (Jennifer) will you please do a double reaction to these 2 covers by Angie, they're of the same song but arrangend differenternly. One was when she was (10) & did her arrangement from the 1937 original musical "Babes in arm" & she did the full version on 2-14-16. The other was done on 2-14-22 at age (16) & she did her arrangement based on the jazz standard.
