The lyrics have nothing to do with the song not being released. Her first song on Norway's Got Talent was about suicide. Baby Fuzz & a collab wrote this piece. It was handed around to see who would do the number. She did the demo. It comes down to most musician/ writers are signed with recording labels. Angelina wasn't, nor would her parents sign her to any label at 10 or 11 when this was done. The price was shelved. Baby Fuzz released it about 2yrs ago. Just before his release hers was leaked. When Baby Fuzz was told of it, he wanted to hear her version. Lucky for Angelina fans he didn't block it. Talking copy right issues here. As it goes, from Angelina's camp, she will never perform this again. If I didn't suck at remembering names, I could have given referral to the persons who had direct contact with Baby Fuzz & Angelina's people. This was in a comment section of another reviewer.

I have my deeper speculation theory as this is NOT about suicide but about moving on, more like a BORN AGAIN by Baptism reference in the writing, like in the song TAKE ME TO THE RIVER..................... I can see how a person not fully versed in the English language or BORN AGAIN scenario could mistake a "threat/thought of suicide" message though..

This is not one of Angelina’s most played songs, but it’s an absolute favorite of hardcore Angelina fans. It’s really extraordinary than a ten year old can deliver these lyrics so dynamically and beautifully at the same time. Not only are her vocals brilliantly expressive and perfect for these melancholy lyrics, but we have literally a child leading us through this dark, emotional journey so convincingly. There is no video of this studio recording, and I think it adds to the mystique. I have been addicted to Angelina for 3-4 years, and even I can’t imagine this extraordinary performance coming from a ten year old. She is the best singer I’ve ever heard-and second place is not even close.

I couldnt agree more...an instant hit. Im sure down the track she will be given great songs to sing. let alone produce her own music....when that happens then she will truly be launched. She is still in training.....these are the hard yards all great performers go through.....Then they describe...an overnight sensation....when mainstream hits. Hopefully that will happen for her in the right way. What strikes me most is that she has the ability to make so many songs great....and she also has the gift of relating to all generations from, kids, teenagers, and those in their 20s, 30s,....60s, 70s....plus......that alone is greatness..cuts across so many genres...and they no longer become covers....that is real..honest to God talent..,.,..,.it just cuts through.....yes there are great performers out there...and yes due to technology we are getting the opportunity to witness and enjoy these very talented people.....yet in all, ..to have someone come along that from the earliest performance...made you instantly STOP and take notice.....that my friend is a very rare talent indeed........maybe once a generation....Her talent is worthy of celebration.

10 YEARS OLD. She was asked to do this as a demo in 2016 at 10 yo. It was never released but was discovered anonymously in November 2018 and uploaded to YT one month prior to the song writer releasing his version in December 2018. So basically Angelina had already performed it so he covered his own song. As far as the suicide thing, nothing has ever been confirmed, there has been discussion that it concerned copyright issues. I truly do not believe it had anything to do with the lyrics since Angelina has covered songs with lyrics just as dark ie. her performance at 7 yo of "Gloomy Sunday". The suicide rumor has been around a long time but it is just a rumor. This is my favorite Angelina song and has been since I first heard it. You are right Adam that this could be released and it would be a hit song! The little girl you see climbing the hill toward the moon at the end is from her video from "Fly Me To The Moon" she did at 10 which happens to be the same little girl that performed this song!!! You mentioned that run at the end which no other reactor has ever mentioned. I think that run is PERFECT execution and an Angelina trademark. There is a mash up with Angelina now 15) and DUFFY performing together for the song "MERCY" that was recently uploaded by Kaleidoscope RMX which is incredible and would be a great reaction since you compared Angelina to Duffy. thank you Adam

Her instincts for all these runs are sublime. It's like she just goes where the music takes her. She always respects the music, always. Whether it is her own original or her spin of another's song, she treats them all with the proper respect for the creative effort and emotion that was put into them by the artists. Angelina's efforts at age 10-11 are some of the best I've heard from anybody. How a person that age can put so much emotion and internal knowing of what drives the song is mind-boggling. Between she and Daneliya these two can sing a song with a grasp and understanding of song that most people have spend their whole life to get to. There are other singers that can give a good accounting when they sing too, but they aren't, or weren't 10 and 11 when they did it. God has blessed these two with extraordinary talents. To which they have applied hard work and time to be worthy of these talents, and we are all the richer and blessed for it. Thanks Adam, as always you seem to be able to use just the right words to help us see the music. P.S. I have always felt that same way. I get more from just her singing a song as she feels it with just her authentic voice. It reaches into my soul and shakes me, and I love that.

QUESTION - Now that Angelina has signed with REPUBLIC RECORDS and given her range of talent in covering different genres, is it reasonable to expect that she would continue with different albums that would reach the widest audience? What might be the TIME FRAME and RECOMMENDATIONS from Republic Records? -- I keep reminding myself, that we just need to RELAX here and WAIT AWHILE and give Angelina some space to continue HER LIFE and CAREER as she sees fit. We are all thankful and wishing the best for Angelina. We (me) are like impatient kids at Christmas waiting for our various presents from Angelina (Jazz, 1960's Pop, Blues) -- We all know that Angelina is just 15 years old, and started out with Jazz, and has done a lot of different covers, and you (Adam) mentioned more modern, edgy singers like Duffy and Winehouse (Adele, Del Ray) but I assume that Angelina is still figuring out what directions she wants to go into, but given her spectacular performance on this song we are all hoping for some songs that are similar in genre and just as good. @@mikemikemike6451 Thanks for your opinion. -- I think all of us are hoping that Angelina will put out a lot of new stuff, but even if she would throw in an occasional album of Jazz and other classics of the 50's and 60's that would still be a LOT of songs ... especially since IMO Angelina sounds so much better that a lot of singers of the last 50 years because of her unique voice and sound. Like I said at the start, (implied) that Republic Records would give her recommendations that would enhance her career ... not kill the Golden Goose. And I think you're right in that Angelina would resist the Cookie Cutter interference from a record company ... that might depend also on what kind of contract she has and if she can opt to go somewhere else later. ** Most importantly, a long and Happy Life for her and her family (as opposed to other sad celebrity stories).

Brandon Lowry (Baby Fuzz) wrote the song with cowriters Aksel Carlson, Ronny Janssen, and Frida Amundsen in 2016. Due to lack of interest in this song, Brandon recorded and released the song himself in 2018. The three cowriters are considered to be the initiators of the demo recording, the three are also the cowriters of Angelina's original "Shield". According to Brandon Lowry on his YT channel, he has never had contact with Angelina or her team. He only heard Angelina's version on YT in 2018 and was thrilled. I guess you have to have good relationships with the studio in order to be able to publish this high quality demo recording on YT. Also strange is the date of the release of the two versions on YT, Angelina's version 11/12/2018, Brandon Lowry version 12/19/2018. Officially, there is no information from Angelina or her team about who or why the song wasn't released with Angelina. 👏👏💯 *AJ* 💯👏👏

Angelina and her family would probably have released a version of this song if the lyrics were altered. SOMEONE refused to alter them. I would say Lowry is being less than honest. His version is very similar to Angelina's, which was done earlier.

She already reigns supreme over the jazz genre, but I believe other genres will fall by the wayside as well if she gets involved in performing them as an adult. A 'Janis Joplin' form of soul should be a 'piece of cake' for this exceptional singer, not to mention any form of 'pop' she decides to get involved in. Most everything was covered in your terrific reaction, but a few additional bits of information. 😁 The Baby FuzZ version’s comments section has been closed, I believe, but here’s his ‘official statement’ (AJ only being 10 years old… it’ll never _not_ be surprising). “Baby FuzZ: Hey! I'm getting lots of messages about this tune so just thought I'd clear the air! So the song was written and produced by me and a few friends in Norway. It was pitched around possibly for another artist to record, and apparently Angelina cut this version around that time (when she was only 10 years old - impressive!). I never heard the demo, though, and we were never approached about her releasing it as far as I know. The song sat for a few years, and then I just decided to put it out with my original demo vocals on. I came across this version after it was out already, and I think it's super cool. I don't think there were any hard feelings or anything, was just a demo that didn't end up getting released on her end. Hope that helps clarify!” P.S. Ok - after viewing your reaction to Angelina's amazing performance for a 2nd time - it's even better! It also occurred to me that there are a number of Angelina's acoustic covers that you haven't reacted to yet. Please consider California Dreaming, Make You Feel My Love & I will Always Love You (Angelina's A cappella intro - IMHO - is incredible :). Baby Fuzz(Brandon Lowry) been writing songs for Lana Del Rey, Madonna, Adam Lambert and more. I dont think this is a song about suicide but i guess it can be interpret that way. From what i could find Baby Fuzz saying about the song its a song about rejecting to find someone new and still holding out for old love that will never work.

Not bad for a 10 year old !!!!!!!! She is actually the first performer of the song. The suicide story isnt true. AJ has changed lyrics on many others songs. Closer to the truth is she and her family knew this song was exceptional. To release it would have brought too much pressure to sign with a label, so they shelved it. It was only a demo. Baby Fuzz decided to release his own version afterwards, but it is awful. Someone leaked this and we are all the better for it.

Many feel this is the most unique display of her musical ability, but when her mom wanted to have the ending changed because it concerned a drowning suicide, word has it that the changes wouldn't be approved by the writers so Angelina never got to release it. I believe it would have been a #1 song.

Hi Adam, another fantastic and thoughtful reaction to AJ. That whole 'suicide lyrics' story has been going around forever but it seems there's no truth to it, there're also rumours that it wasn't released due to copyright issues between Fuzzy Baby Butt and others, (not AJ). Angelina was actually the first to make a recording demo of this song, making her the original singer, in my eyes anyway. The truth is no one really knows why this wasn't officially released, maybe someday someone will ask Angelina in an interview and we'll get our answer. Funny you should mention Duffy, Angelina did a short tik tok of 'Mercy' which was taken by a fan and made into a mash up, it's brilliant! AJ sang this in an underground car park, acapella, using just her phone. It's incredible just how pitch perfect she was for it to slot straight into the original music video. Adam, this is the original, The writer sent it to her first and she sent this prototype back with the requirement that he change the ending to remove the Drowning at the end. He refused to change it and Angelina said NO to releasing it (Not her parents). Her friend Avicii had just committed suicide. Also she refuses to ever sing her first song from NGT again "Gloomy Sunday" for the same reason. The song was leaked by someone in the writers studio.

There is lot of misinformation about this song that is floating around. What we know for sure is that Brandon Lowry (Baby FuZZ) wrote this song with Frida Amundsen, Aksel Carlson,and Ronny Janssen. A demo was produced but not released by Baby FuZZ. The song was shopped around to different artists for possible recording. Angelina recorded a demo but also did not release it. It was leaked by someone who managed to access the computer file were it was stored. Baby FuZZ heard Angelina's demo only after it was leaked. All the talk about the suicide lyrics is nothing but speculation. Neither Angelina or anyone associated with her indicated that. Baby FuZZ in an interview said that there were no discussions about the song between him and Angelina's team. He was getting lots of abuse on KZbin for the mistaken belief that he prevented her from changing the lyrics. He was very impressed by her performance but threatened to block the song if the online abuse continues which he really didn't want to do that because he supports young and upcoming artists. When no real interest was shown by any artist to record this song, he recorded it himself and released it. We probably can say that he covered his own song. LOL. We are grateful to him for not blocking Angelina's demo. What is the reason that Angelina didn't release this song? We will never know unless she or her manager say why. Makes sense to me that the Astar's did not feel strongly about keeping this song from our ears, otherwise they would have found a way to kill this leaked video. Perhaps mystery increases interest? I believe also true, the family have been working hard to provide her with as near normal a childhood as they can. If this freakishly extraordinary performance had been promoted at that time (at her age) there would have been no way to keep the genie in the bottle. I for one, am hoping that when her family feels she is ready (completes school), this performance will be officially released (Baby FuZZ willing).
