I stream Funkos, but I love getting on Tcg sellers and buying. I check all my cards and go back to make sure they're all there. I've been scammed twice by two different sellers. 1 was a new seller and his first stream. I purchased 8 cards and 3 were fakes. I contacted him and he said he didn't know. He hasn't ran another stream. Another guy who has a HUGE following ran some singles. He had one in there that he said was his favorite that I won the auction on. Well, when I got my shipment, behold it wasn't in there. I messaged him and he replied that he would have never done that on purpose even if that was his favorite card. He sent me some random packs to make up for it. But I don't think I can follow him anymore. Lol Maybe they weren't scams. But fishy.

I’ve been scammed on whatnot with a bounty switch. I reported and submitted footage to “trust and safety”. They did nothing. It was a blatant $300 slab that the streamer scammed me out of. They offered to refund the $20 I spent on the packs. SMH. Zero repercussion for the streamer. He still has that slab in his background scamming others 2 months later. Whatnot needs to clean house.

There are only a couple of streams I whatnot I would consider spending money on, one because he sells pretty rare stuff at reasonable (not low) prices which is cool but when I pop into random streams they wreak of desperation and carnival barker type energy. I saw one guy ripping packs so fast you can't see the cards, obviously he's 100% scamming people.

Get that rush but very hard to make good financial decisions on the app. And yes I saw alot of shady stuff on the app. If you speak up about it you are banned from the streamers show

SimplyUnlucky scams daily in the yugioh category and whatnot sponsors him and promotes his content so more victims can get scammed. Speak out about it and they issue harassment warning even if you don't mention him by name. They are a disgusting company and he should be in jail.

A little more context that I have recieved over the past couple of hours. A lot of people were confused as to when this occured and why the stream where this occured wasn't showing up in his past shows. This stream was on June 10th and was hidden on his account for obvious reasons. Apparently he was "upset" that the 10 pack lot the Moonbreon was hit during was sold for only 13 bucks. As a seller sometimes you win big on these bounties and sometimes you lose out, but that's the gamble with these types of games for both the buyer and seller. Another point of confusion. With the strike / ban on his account he can't stream nor ship product out, meaning he still has the card in his possession as well as the bounty. Not sure if Whatnot will fully compensation for the roughly $1,700 in cards that the buyer won, but I wouldn't bet that will be the case. Hope that helps, been a buyer on Whatnot for a while mainly for Weiss products but also have met some great people on the Pokémon side but there are a ton of shady streamers there as well and it's just not worth the risk for me anymore.

Hi! I am a whatnot streamer/buyer for my store. As someone who is a part of the whatnot community, this really sucks and I really hate how so many streamers get away with these things and hurt the people who are genuinely trying to have an honest business and/or trying to make a community. Thankfully I have met a bunch of nice and trustworthy people on whatnot but at the same time, I have seen the dark side of whatnot. I just stopped being a buyer so you have one less person to sell to. So I just got screwed by a seller on whatnot. If you would like to do a show on it let me know. It’s very blatant. The seller messaged me: I canceled the order the card you bought was worth more then you bought it for. I sent a complain to whatnot. They literally DID NOTHING. The seller already canceled the order so their email we are sorry but you will get a refund amounts to nothing. No credit no nothing. To add salt to the wound they let the seller go on as usual and post the disputed card on his storefront.

I’ve never heard of whatnot not refunding anyone on cancelled orders, especially with the streamer being a POS for not giving you the card you bought fair and square for the price you got it for. The thing about paying someone to rip online for you is that even if you pull a hit card that is not numbered they can even swap out it out with a same card with a poor quality and mail you the card that is off centered and keep the better card they had on the side.

Hey rattle, your content is great and what you're doing is important for the tcg loving comminity! I wanted to point out though that whatnot does have the ability to watch prior streams on both android and ios. Past show VOD are enabled by default, but sellers can choose to disable this for the general public. They cannot however disable the VOD for buyers. If you buy into a show you can go to your purchase history and watch the show back, even if the seller has hidden it from their profile. I would recommend people to flip to the past shows tab and watch back some content before choosing to purchase from a new breaker. And if they have hidden VOD, it may be worth asking why.

I wouldn't go as far as to say 'don't buy from whatnot'. Just buy from trusted sellers, or get to know the seller and their platform to judge if you should buy from them or of things seem to sketchy, then move on to the next

There is a lot of fun to be had on whatnot as it feels like a unique combination of Twitch streaming, and being able to have fun sales. Showing people their product all around before they go ahead and make a purchase is something great you cannot get anywhere else! But I see where all the slimeballers are coming in and just ripping people off like this, and creating a bad name for whatnot. I also feel like ALL the effort to go through and do these scams, requires SO MUCH effort. Selling on whatnot has been the least amount of money i have ever gotten back for putting my time into something. I genuinely do it because its fun to hang out with some people who love the same thing online!

I’m guilty of partaking, and I was not only lucky enough to have a $1000+ card pulled on a stream, but the streamer was honest enough to send the actually card to me with upmost transparency. This is so disgusting!!! I am a streamer on Whatnot. There is alot of toxicity with some dodgy stuff happening but there is also alot of great streamers on there too. I don't make alot of money selling cards bc even with bounties I don't like to charge too much bc I love pulling awesome cards for people. I do get its cheaper to go buy cards yourself. I feel it's the fun of chatting with others I met on the app and have gotten close to whether they are sellers or buyers. I do run an honest stream even when they weren't recorded(which you can go back now and watched past streams if needed 😊) I always throw extra stuff in too for each purchase. I do it for the fun as it's not always about the money but i would never steal from my buyers, that's appalling to me and gives us good streamers a bad name

Whatnot is a just a scam site in general. Anyone can become a seller by just lying on their form and do scumbag things like this. I know it can be very convenient for people buying packs that they want because their local LCS don’t have them or the seller has a better price but overall whatnot streamers will scam you and if they do get caught they will act like the victim. It is so horrible how people abuse the Pokemon card collecting community just to make a quick buck.

I am a whatnot streamer and although it's true, there is an extremely slim profit margin, it's enough for me to have fun. I'm not making money. I actually lost money last year (I've streamed for over one year). However, I've sold over 3k in product and have over 2k followers. I'm a very honest, upfront streamer and never take product off screen! This one streamer should not represent the thousands of honest streamers on the app. I know at least one hundred personally and buy from frequently, which is why I lose money (I'm a collector too).

Question: you said whatnot is covering the seller by blocking their video on demand replays. How do YOU know... whatnot is blocking this OR the seller is blocking this? Did YOU know sellers can turn their VOD replays on/off themselves within their setting? Do you know the seller did it, whatnot did it, or you are assuming and sharing assumptions? None of the social media sites do enough to stop these people. On KZbin for instance you've got Jake Paul, Ricegum and Nepenthez who have all run child gambling schemes and they're all still here. Nepenthez even got convicted. There's more people that have done it but those were the three that jumped into my head. Absolute disgrace. I was just scammed out of 2k with a streamer called captainace. This guy got mad i hit the bounty n hit hella rare cards n stole everything. This guys sent me an empty box that was cut open. Then the ups driver didnt wven report it. This guy put the open package in my parcel locker. So imma gonna get everything investigated and reported.

Cards aren't that expensive but I understand the fun in having a streamer open them for you. Here's my suggestion for anyone doing this. Buy from a reputable streamer, preferably from someone who shows their face. Even if they don't have a huge following, which helps with their credibility, make sure the person you're buying from seems genuine.

He doesn't even use a card with the same color scheme. He opens the pack and puts it face down to his left....(Can still see cards face down on left of screen 7:18 ).... Then moves them off screen 7:40

So I just got screwed by a seller on whatnot. If you would like to do a show on it let me know. It’s very blatant. The seller messaged me: I canceled the order the card you bought was worth more then you bought it for. I sent a complain to whatnot. They literally DID NOTHING. The seller already canceled the order so their email we are sorry but you will get a refund amounts to nothing. No credit no nothing. To add salt to the wound they let the seller go on as usual and post the disputed card on his storefront.

You can actually view past streams on whatnot. You can also clip the streams and report clips. This really sucks that a few bad apples have been giving whatnot a bad rap because honestly I love the community and sellers over there. Also being a seller myself, kind of hurts to hear you lump all WhatNot sellers together like that. Kind of like how there are terrible people who are KZbinrs but I’m sure not all youtubers are like that. Granted, I’m more into the Weiss community. It all comes down to any other platform, there are going to be those that try to take advantage. As a whole whatnot is a great place that many have found good friends and fun sharing their hobbies.

I do enjoy whatnot but im very picky on who i buy from and only buy singles or slabs. Unfortunately been scammed by searched breaks and have gone away from packs

I dont understand group breaks for pokemon. I do group breaks with a guy i know irl with sports cards because i can get all the Canucks cards from an entire case of product. I only collect specific teams so it makes sense for me to do that instead of buying 150$ boxs to potentially get none of my team. Pokemom breaks dont make sense to me because you have the same odds ripping anything.

I sell on whatnot, and I have pulled chasers and even if I'm losing like $200, im glad to do so as long as my buyers are happy, reputation is more worthy than a mere 1 time payment.

Now he replied, he righted his wrong and sent the card to the buyer. Not sure if this is true. He was offensive at first but he says he has further clips stating he sent the card to the rightful owner and the bounty. ugh....that dude is pathetic.
