Can you tell me what part of the stem to cut from for cuttings?

I have not had any problems using mature branches, I try to cut them toward the base and remove some leaves... Then let it callous over. I have not tried to propagate the leaves.

@@WhatPlantisthatPaul ok, thanks, Paul. I was wondering if there was anything to do with nodes and such like other cuttings for propagation. Thanks for the video. I think this is the best one out there for this plant.

Makes a nice low hedge too.

Yes it does. However, this one seems to grow better for me in a pot. I've had several well rooted cuttings die from heatwaves and/or over watering. They seem to do better with a bit of afternoon shade and less water than other succulents in the collection.

I hope you realize that Senecio barbertonicus grows to six feet tall and wide!! It wants to be a showcase plant in the middle of a very large bed.

I’ve had my little guy in a small pot for 6 months now and he’s doing great. I’m in Phoenix so not entirely different from San Diego. Most small plants I buy never get big tho. Are propagated succulents from Home Depot meant to turn into giant shrubs like yours? Or maybe I’m just doing everything wrong :(

They will in time, many of mine are 10 years old or so. If they look healthy, they will grow :)

@@WhatPlantisthatPaul my lemon bean is thriving, for some reason. I’ve had a zz gem for four years and it has had ZERO growth. But, still is a healthy looking plant. My gollum jade is super hands off, over 8 months with good growth, will repot soon. NOW, my Frank and beans I got last month for Home Depot. Absolutely destroyed in weeks. Dunno if it’s the soil. I certainly don’t OVER water, or maybe he just prefers full sun is my assumption. And my window only gets a couple hours a day. Either way. Thanks for your sharing your bushy journey. It’s my favorite plant. So healthy and vibrant, so much personality. Constant growth. A living thing if you will. As you can tell I’m not much of a green thumb. Anyways, God bless.
