Roger's Orchids sure it grows!!! I have a question: when watering isn’t it dangerous if you water the plant on the top when water drips towards the others? I mean like phals when they get water in the crown
@RogersOrchidsGardenandBonsai5 жыл бұрын
@@myhandmadejournals With the mounted orchids, they are placed where they drip on the floor after watering. All the pots have drip trays under them to stop them dripping on other plants. The only time plants drip on each other is when I use the sprayer and I only do that in warm weather when the large circulating fans are on.

I enjoyed watching this video. Yes indeed, it was artistically done👍🏼👍🏼. I don’t like the idea of community potting though, one will thrive & one will struggle.Thank you for sharing. Good luck with the new set up. Do keep us updated.

Very nice mount Roger! I’ve given up on fishing line now because it’s so fiddly, (albeit clear and unnoticeable) and seems to work loose soon after I’ve mounted an orchid and have started using natural raffia instead.

The bowl shape is fine for shallower rooting orchids but this one is made from very soft thick clay so just stays wet. It's also quite large.

Given that this hybrid is 50% schilleriana, it is probably better suited to a mount.

I didn't know that pot would hold on to so much moisture - not suitable for something that needs to dry quicker.

Forgive my bluntness, but what the bleedin’ ‘ell did you expect to happen with 4 plants in 1 pot? There is always a risk with planting multiples in 1 pot, if one gets sick it can take the others down. Having said that, if it were my pot, I probably would have added extra holes around the flat bottom of the pot.

A pot full of roots? The bowl is made from very soft thick clay and holds on to moisture - not suitable for a Catt. type. I didn't know that when I used it.
@lynnbrooks55035 жыл бұрын
Roger's Orchids Well you certainly achieved that. Hope they do well on the mount. I have started to mount a few odd bits of Cattleya lately. Am seeing new roots and shoots, so am keeping my fingers crossed.
