Great to see things progressing. Ime sure you will have all those parts looking pristine by the end , looking at the gearbox , will you rebuild calipers or new? Ime very envious as I had to sell my Caterham when I moved to France due to legislation here but did have it here for a while , great fun around mountain roads. Will be fantastic to watch this build !

Thanks Karl, we looked at rebuilding the calipers but for what the repair kit costs and the state of the old calipers it cost us about £20 to buy 2 new calipers. and on the front we are going for ap racing calipers. yeah i can imagine that would be great, we done london to monaco and back and the roads were an absloute pleasure

MX5 coolant reroute. It’s an important and cheap upgrade of the cooling system. There’s a few videos on KZbin covering it. Now is the time to do it. While the engine is on its stand. And a powder coating prep and process video would be very interesting.

Hello everyone. Needing help. Sorry don’t to have to ask on your video but I’m going out of my mind 😂 mk1 tt fwd 180bhp. I was wondering does anyone know where the oil level sender wires into? Cannot find any info anywhere. Need a wiring diagram if possible. Thanks in advance 👍🏻👍🏻

@@TheParrottBros hey dom, basically I’ve replaced the coil pack harness as mine was really bad but the new harness doesn’t come with anywhere to wire the oil level sender. So Iam up s**t creek at the moment. So I just want to wire in the oil level sender or link it out. Would like it to work tho. Sorry for always hijacking you videos 😂

@@adamshaw1032 found this online, may not be 100% for a fwd but off a Leon Mk1 page The sensor in the bottom of the sump is G266. Contacts in the connector are shown in the wiring diagram as follows: 1 (yellow/black) - Power, connected to black/blue in cable channel, goes to fuse S5 (7.5A, brown) on the relay plate (also protects clutch pedal switch) 2 (brown) - - - - - Earth, goes to an earth point. 3 (brown/blue) - Goes to dash panel processor and is shown associated with the oil warning light, so this is the signal line. So wire 1 in the harness should show +12v when the ignition is switched on. Wire 2 should show continuity to earth. On the VAG connectors position 1 is next to the flat side of the connector and position 3 is next to the rounded side. This sensor is an oil level and temperature warning sender, and is supposedly fitted only to cars on long-life servicing. There's only one signal line, so I don't think it's sending a continuous reading of oil temperature (or level, come to that), just a switched signal saying "oil too low and/or too hot". The signal line goes to the dash panel which will process it and display a warning on the oil pressure lamp (the oil can in the dash pilot-light display) and play a tune on the dash buzzer too. Oil warnings: flashing or solid red - low oil pressure solid yellow - low oil level/high oil temperature flashing yellow - defective oil level indicator All should be accompanied by three beeps on the dash buzzer as far as I can tell from reading my car's Owner's Manual, basically "look at me!".
