We had been trying to find tires that will hook with a 700whp/800wtq twin turbo vette, tried NT05R ran that for a few years and they were ok but spun a lot, tried MT S/S similar experience to yours, then the Toyo R888R we just put on and it is a completely different level of grip. FINALLY the car it is supposed to be. Pricey but its 100% worth it for the unbelievable traction. Will now be using this for every high HP application we have. Definitely recommend anyone with high HP build trying these out. Thx for the video.

My experience between nittos and mickeys are night and day. Nittos out the box, no spin. 100 miles later, they started spinning in 1st gear pulls. More miles, the worse it gets. Around 1k miles, 2nd became useless. Mickeys, over 3k miles and exactly the same as day one. Just a sec of spin the top of first at about 6200. Never heated the tires other then normal driving. The mickeys just seem more violent but i do not trust them in a turn due to lack of sidewall sizes. My cousin has an 03 cobra. Tried many tires and sizes to get all 600 down with an 11 inch ccw. A 315 toyo, allows 2nd gear to hook. We've been through many tires between us both. Recommend toyo over all others anyday for the street.

@@JD_JoyrideTV Hey JD. He's selling everything to move out west and take up the RV lifestyle. What is it with GT500s and RVs?😉 He wanted to re-dyno the car before selling it to verify his tune. I took him to pick it up 2 weeks ago and we went for a ride. I will try to find out the particulars on his setup. Pretty sure it's a 3.6 Kenne Bell. I don't believe it was on 93 (I'll verify), but I think it was a mix of 93 and 110. I'll try to check. It'll be up for sale very soon though. Have a nice weekend, bud.

The new 28x10.5 Hoosier bracket drag radials are where its at. They are as good as the new Mickey Thompson drag radials, but the sidewalls are a lil softer.

And yet RbW cars run on ET Street Rs and can put down 5K hp to the ground on 2 tires. I know it's slightly a different tire, but a drag radial done right will out hook any of the road race tires anyday.
@disinferno066 жыл бұрын
@@ddn79 that wasn't one of the choices, ET Street Rs are not tires you drive on the street consistently. If you don't mind the tread rating the R888s are daily drivable.
@maximusvonce13816 жыл бұрын
R888's are a joke. I ran those before switching to et street ss. Mickeys blow em away for dig racing. Not even close. ET street ss hands down best daily driver drag radial you can buy. Only ones i run in my 600wheel pump gas daily 11 tvs 5.0 and my 10sec all motor street car 68 Mustang. Plus you can drive et street ss in rain if necessary. They go real quick though...lol
@disinferno066 жыл бұрын
@@maximusvonce1381 definitely not. Your suspension setup might have contributed it. The r888s are better tires cold or warm IMO. Maybe you're used to having to do a burnout to get the tires sticky and overheated the Toyos. Lot of people are using them daily, even on 1800whp cars. I drove r888s in the rain no problem (you can probably do the same with ET Streets), it's always the idiots who can't drive that say "oh if it rains you're going to crash" haha.

IMO the Toyos actually have less traction at the 20psi you ran all these tires in this test.The sidewalls are stiff like a runflat and at 20psi they start to cup the center of the contact patch. 30-32psi keeps the contact patch the widest and flattest.You also dont need a burnout to get autocross tires up to temp either just a steady 10min drive
@matpatte3 жыл бұрын
Accurate, same experience with the R888R being their best around 32psi.

This is a great video for fellow enthusiasts to find good tires. , I have been running Toyo T1 Proxes Sports on my C5 Corvette for 2 years and I am amazed with the traction that still Remains. My Toyotas have 20,000 miles on them and they still have good tread and lots of traction. I personally like the Toyota T1 Proxes sport better than the Michelin Pilot Super Sport.
@johnny4274 жыл бұрын
I had toyo t1 and swapped to R888R-s, it is day and night. Much better traction with the latter, more pricey of course but wear is not an issue because it is on a lightweight hobby car. I wouldn't recommend R888R-s on heavier cars especially if you don't run it on track and if you don't have serious horsepower.
