Can you tell the difference between full grip and split, weight difference?
@skeeterboy77 Жыл бұрын
nah not really.. I prefer full grip, but dont really mind split in some of the rods..

Been fishing Dobyns swimbait rods for years and just recently got into some of their conventional rods. Got a Kaden 744 for a jig rod. Casting and flipping light cover. So it's labeled a fast action but feels like a mod-fast. Not quite sure about it for a jig rod. Doesn't feel like you could drive the hook deep enough,it doesn't start shutting off until about the 8th guide. Do you have any experience with the 744 and what are your thoughts about it as a jig rod?
@skeeterboy772 жыл бұрын
I only have the kaden 714 and 713 and use them for moving baits, but a lot of guys use the kadens for vert stuff and havent had issues.. the Champ XPs are a tad faster and the sierras are def slower..

Just ordered a Sierra 734 for a chaterbait/swim jig/spinner bait rod. Will this rod be good for frogging as well?
@skeeterboy773 жыл бұрын
IMO no its too light or frogging.. 735 is lightest power rod id go, but I mainly use the 736.

734 has lots of backbone and a whippy tip. If you are not in thick mats it will work. You will be very accurate with that tip. Ive used lighter rods in not Mat conditions

Trey, when you say fuji guides on the Champ Extreme HPs, are those SIC rings or are they Alconite rings??

Is the Xtasy any better then the dobyns champion extreme hp? I also was wondering if the older version of the hp is more or less sensitive and what’s the weight difference?
@skeeterboy773 жыл бұрын
Xtasy is their top tier rod.. incredible rods..

What Champion XP rod would you recommend for jig fishing lakes in the Ozarks. From Stl, MO. I have been looking at Shimano Expride, G. Loomis GCX MBR, and the MegaBass Levante Series rods but I can't ignore the $70 no hassle warranty Dobyns has for the Champion XP.
@skeeterboy772 жыл бұрын
prob the champ 735.. or if you go up to the Extreme the 745..
@dreddy51872 жыл бұрын
@@skeeterboy77 awesome that's what I was leaning towards. The extreme is a bit too high for me since I'm also getting either a Shimano Curado 150 MGL or a SLX DC too

Hey Trey Im looking into getting that 755 xtasy for 1/2 3/4 main jig rod but would this rod be good for texas rigs also?
@chrisboyle44123 жыл бұрын
or should I get a texas rig rod in the hp line up ...whatcha think?

I have both the 744, 745, and 746 in Champion Xtreme, and 754 and 755 in Xtasy....you can’t go wrong with either line up but the Xtasy is superb as a contact technique rod
@skeeterboy773 жыл бұрын
You can use it for both.. I use the champ XP 735 for t rigged beavers etc..

I have the same sobi line of dobyns and I'm looking to get more. I have about $1000 to spend on rods what Kaden or preferably champion xp rods should I look at? I'm in the northeast so I don't do an grass punching or and big swimbaits.

Champion XP 734C is an EXCELLENT "all-around/ do-everything" rod. The Champion XP 684CB is another GREAT rod if you're working with spinnerbaits and/or jerk baits (clear water fishing). Just my 2 cents, Justin.

For certain models is the difference between Sierra/Kaden and XP worth it? I'm going to add 2 Spinning rods. One for Ned/Drop shot and one for Worm fishing and I'm going to add a jig/texas rig casting rod. Was thinking of moving up from Sierra to XP for those 3 rods because they are the ones that you need the most sensitivity.....Is the difference in XP worth the money in your opinion? I love the Sierra rods I have already.
@jackjack12123 жыл бұрын
How big of a difference in sensitivity is there between the Kaden and Champion XP? I have a fury and a champion xp, and Im wondering if its worth the investment for several champion xps or if i can get away with kadens

@@adaofromdiscord agreed,, last seen bought 4 champion xp Rods and Wow, now trying to sell all 14 of my furys lol. The difference is night and day. I can only imagine how many fish I missed in the past from extremely soft bites that I was not feeling with the fury that I do feal now with the champions. With that being said for 120$ the fury in my opinion is the best rod in that price point hands down. Will never leave dobyns

@@frankdebellis2879 keep some of your furry’s for applications you don’t need the sensitivity like a frog rod , a treble hook top water rod and a small crankbait . I wish Dobyns would put the weight of each rod in the specs on the website. Also what guides are used would be important. I have been looking at the Kaden 745C and thought it had Fuji guides but if not I am really considering something else. Edit I see on the main page of the rod series it states guides as Sea Guide’s XO guides
