Beef Cobbler | Easy Slow Cooker Minced Beef & Dumplings recipe :)

Welcome back to What’s For Tea :) and today for I made this wonderful beef cobbler :) also known in Scotland as mince and dumplings. You could add all sorts of things to this, but I’ve kept it simple with just peas, onions and carrots.
Everything I used will be mentioned below incase you want to make it for yourself. Thanks for stopping by,

What I used (serves 4-5 people)
1lb (16 oz) Good quality minced beef
220g (7.7 oz) Onions - finely diced
220g (7.7 oz) Frozen peas
220g (7.7 oz) Frozen carrots
1 Teaspoon minced garlic
1 Tablespoon Worcestershire sauce
300ml (10 fl oz) Beef stock/broth
For the dumplings (Makes 4 large or 5-6 smaller dumplings)
100g (3.5 oz) Self raising flour
50g (1.7 oz) Suet (or very cold cubed butter or shortening if you don’t have suet)
1 Teaspoon baking powder
Pinch of salt
6-8 Tablespoons cold water
Optional Tablespoon parsley

Hello! I was ecstatic when I saw this recipe! I 'm not sure if I mentioned my girlfriend - passed on - but she would make this for me on my bday with, checkerboard cake for dessert, and she promised to give me the recipe, but unfortunately never got the chance! Never had this before so made it yesterday and it was a huge success. My husband loved it. My husband is American and I am English and we live in Texas. There isn't many British foods he doesn't like. Thank you, this is definitely a do again.

Thankye kindly Mam, from east Texas! Y'all know how to cook beef as well as lamb. That beef suet in the dumplings is a great idea to bring a beef dish all together. Suet is some what hard to find around here though. Thanks again. I use worcester sauce all the time.

Hi there just spent 3 weeks in Scotland got back home and my husband didn't feel very well so he did a covit test and has it next day I was feeling very tired and unwell did a test now I have it I promise my husband scotch pies when we got back to England well it's been a week now and we are no better the reason I said I'd do him scotch pies his he only had 2 in 3 weeks because every think is so Expensive in Scotland and after making your scotch pies last year my husband said they were the best he had ever tasted happy cooking I'll be making them when I'm better at the moment every think is still packed in the cases hopefully ill be cooking with you soon Carol England 😥

@TheRenaissanceman65 Mince and dumplings or stew and dumplings has more space in between the dumplings than a cobbler. Unless you are really greedy and do massive dumplings......
