There’s multiple things to analyze between the Drake v Kendrick beef, but what’s always bothered me is how Drake moves the goal post once he realizes he can’t win. At first he wanted to be lyrical then he realized he could be the best at that then changed the metric to bodies of work. Then Kendrick dropped 2 all-time generation defining albums and he realized he couldn’t be the best at that so he moved the goalpost to Grammys. Then Kendrick tied Michael Jackson for the most nominations (& won a Pulitzer) then he changed the narrative to money. It’s a shallowness that has largely driven the trajectory of his career since “Views,” and you can actually see the steady decline of his work since he decided to be a profit-based brand instead of a true artist.

Kendrick knew about the kind of person Drake is behind the scenes. Kendrick has openly spoken about how toxic the industry is, and we live in a day and age where we are seeing celebs (Diddy, R Kelly, Bill Cosby, Danny Masterson, Harvey Weinstein, Dan Schneider just to name a few) are being held accountable for their actions. Many of these people had rumors about their behavior swirling for YEARS and it’s now being confirmed as true. Drake’s reckoning is coming, and Kendrick is gonna end up on the right side of history.

@nerdjournal5 ай бұрын
@@ami7189 Not just how he ended it. He keeps appealing to the performative nature of Drake pretending to be "Nice". Making it seem like Kendrick is unreasonable because Drake just wanted to stop the beef. It all feels pretty biased toward Drake and almost feels like it wants to paint Drake as a victim of a one-sided beef. Someone being nice in public doesn't squash a beef when the issues that cause it are behind closed doors. This video is certainly not an Unbiased retelling of the facts, otherwise it wouldn't focus mainly on Drake's attempts to just be kind. The unbiased person would have explored the Two Faced nature of Drake by exploring his attempted exploitation of The Weekend and pulling in the myriad of reasons why Kendrick doesn't need to squash a beef with someone who is "nice" on Twitter. The "journalist" you are responding to makes the same mistake as a lot of Media these days and pretend that if you include narratives from both sides it is somehow unbiased, even if the narratives are slanted to one side. You know, like a bias would cause. Now it does come off across like an "attempt" to make something unbiased, but failed. Then again. This isn't simply a case of "theres just some people you don't like no matter what". Kendrick is a genuine dude, and in the beginning was humble and respected Drake. Something happened, Kendrick saw something that he just couldn't let slide, who knows except Kendrick. But for that amount of animosity, it isn't something that can be forgotten just because that someone congratulated you on something. Streets and hoods have lines that you can never cross, and Drake has obviously crossed one of Kendricks lines. First R.Kelly, next Diddy, now the eyes of suspicion are focusing on Drake. The next 18 months you're going to see a lot of darkness exposed.
