Since Don The Con walked out of the new member swear in at Town Hall, he gave up his seat on the council
Now the "bad guys" are trying anything they can to get control of the board again
But the good guys out number them when voting
There's an open seat on the council and the good guys and the bad guys will be fighting for it

Less taxes and more benefits equal big brother in charge. When town folk feel their independence, as these people have for years, it is hard to give it up. If the town council hadn't been corrupted by bad actors, giving up the incorporation would most likely have never been an issue.

Jeremy, I noticed on the agenda that they limit public participation to 3 minutes, which is a good thing, however, the request for no foul language is a 1st amendment violation and they are putting themselves at risk if they attempt to enforce that. The US Supreme Court has ruled on this and with all of the liabilities they are already dealing with concerning what RTS, DTC, and others did to you, they need to do their best to reduce their exposure to other litigation and that portion of the agenda doesn't help them in any way.

I honestly don't think the town's people even remotely understand the negatives of using the grant for the community center! It's very clear they don't! It should be discussed again and the vote reversed or revoted on. If that's possible!

The sad part about the community center. Everything I can come up with to generate revenue can and has been at town hall. Except for Bingo. Any not-for-profit or for-profit entity would obviously have to pay rent to offset/pay the building expenses. With Rainbow Springs a bit up the road, and all the beaches within driving distance, not even a public, year-round swim facility makes sense. The town library is in the town hall and Madam Mayor whittled that down. A sports facility doesn't work due to the lack of young people in town. So yes, the only thing that does make sense is a Bingo hall. But they'd have to have literal early bird specials from 9 a.m. to noon three days a week. And 2 big nightly games to draw the necessary revenue.

Has the town put in place how they are going to pay for fire protection after the deal is done from when they traded for services? I think that it’s going to be a thorn in their side. What they should of done was kept the brush truck and reinstate the fire company and applied for grants. Grants for emergency services would of been perfect for Otter Creek. They would of been qualified for state and federal grants. The only thing would be if there are people in Otter Creek who would actually volunteer.

If the past show anything is how much the will not move or get involved. Why would they maintain a building when the could not keep a very basic of safety.

Order Creek not wanting change is like the town I live in for years was a dry county the older generations all said drunk driving will go up . The county finally goes wet . When the older generations pass away. And what happened the drunk driving went down because those that was going out of the county yo get their 🍻 started getting it in the county and was not driving as far and did not have the chance to get as drunk
