I’ve played hockey for 20 years and I still get excited and giggly every time I walk into the rink. For me it is the greatest sport. You have to be skilled, strong, enduring, and gritty. No wusses. No quitters. It’s the perfect balance of you against you off the ice, then us against them on the ice.

Thank you for this! I watched this about a month ago and 2 weeks ago I had a game. I blocked a shot, and it hurt so much that I was laying on the ice for a few seconds, then I remembered this, and I got up and stayed on the ice for another minute and a half, eventually getting the puck out of our zone. When my game was over. We went to the hospital and found out that I had a broken ankle. But thanks to this video, I was able to play through it and clear the puck. Including another 5 shifts in my game. I am only 9 years old also! Thank you again.

But the end of last season I got more over that fear and became a whole new hockey player. My dream is so make it onto the national women's canadian hockey team. I hope it happens one day and if it doesn't atleast I tried. This speech is making me more ready for this season and is gonna push me harder to get there. I got injured playing hockey once and that made the fear worse but I realized the pain was over at one point and it's ok to get hurt. as a 11 year old girl who play hockey since i was like 6 or 5 and plays on a boy team this motivation is what keeps me alive because I wanted to give up so many time but i say to my self don't quit because you losing games and not giving up is what makes you strong and makes you successful bec loosing a game helps you with the mistakes you made on that game bec i know for sure quitting won't make you strong and if you fix those mistake and talk to your teammates you could win( plus winning is not everything its about having fun and being respectful to the other team)

Hockey is a humbling sport. I am 33 and I played when I was 20 with bunch of buddies we won the championship in our bronze league. Then last night was first time on the ice since 20 and omg I am competitive and on my feet for work all day. I tell you last night was the hardest thing I have ever done. But I didn’t put in preparation. It takes heart and grit and I love it. But do yourself a favor work on cardio and strength my body is hurting today

I’m 14, started skating when I was 5 and played organized hockey when I was 6. I have followed the Oilers my whole life because of my dad who has been a hockey fan for decades. always been an average hockey player my whole life, never the best and never the worst. Have only played tiered hockey. No AA or AAA. Only a few years ago I really started to fall in love with the game. And just last year I realized what my dream was. To become an nhl player. But I just don’t think that I can catch up to the kids my age and make it to the nhl. I have the equipment to train all day every day. I’ve done it before. But I still don’t think that will be enough to attempt a journey to the nhl. If you have any words of advice for me that would be great but next year I think I’m gonna quit hockey for good.

I’ve played hockey for 7 years and I’m 13 and this is what I think is going to motivate me to reach the nhl and achieve my dream as a Stanley cup champion. I am the best on my team and I’m the best on my league. This is what pushes me to the next level. I got hit by a slap shot last week on the knee where there wasn’t a pad but I didn’t give up and scored a hat trick that game. I will never quit

That's the spirit! But also like ow. Slap shots are no fun.

I saw this while looking for a maple leafs hype video, I found this and now I watch it before every game. That one line “Pain is Temporary” gave me chills
