If you have had a horrible experience in the past when dealing with something, it may be frustration, fear or anger that is keeping us from completing a task. I am working on that. I have to tell my self every experience will not be the same as the one instance that was horrible. Great topic Vivi.

Oh my goodness this gave me food for thought. I have days where I feel overwhelmed too. Tends to shut me down, feels like industrial Velcro is on my back or feet holding me fixed, I’ve literaly been so glued to the spot I’ve drifted off as if asleep for hours. Wasted a day. Listing the rotten jobs first makes a lot of sence

I've been self employed and working from home for most of my life. My work is all self generated so if I lose impetus I can get in a into a rut of procrastination. I can bump myself out of the rut by watching the first episode of The Good Life. This throws me right back to why I'm working for myself and being my own boss.

Oh my goodness I so get what you mean about the 'stuck' procrastination thing. I also have come around to putting the thing you need to get done, on one side and doing just something else, anything really or I can lapse into doing nothing, I like your approach to the gardening , in that you , get dressed for it and go down there, in other words your showing up. With my sewing projects , I go to the sewing room , lay out all the fabric and sewing notions ,and then go and do something else before returning and doing maybe just half an hours work, 🥰🥰🥰

I think we all get stuck sometimes, even overwhelmed when so much comes at us at once. You are looking to move to a new home Vivi with all that entails and no longer want to keep fixing fixing things like stupid taps!! Bound to feel a bit stuck! I usually go for a walk if I can, unless the weather thinks otherwise, just to clear my head. Sometimes helps me to look at things with fresh eyes. Take care lovely x

Really enjoyed this Vivi, remember all those games, at school marbles was a serious business, everyone lined up with a couple of “littlys” at the bottom of the row, to Ozzie’s and steelies and biggies and at the top you could win 10 biggies in one go but you had to stand a long way back to try for and use a biggy yourself. My dad gave me a big steely (must have been a big Ball bearing) and all the boys desperately wanted to win it! 😀All was highly organised and good natured for a group of under 11s! We also used to have a train line pass on a bank above the school and every time we heard a train coming all the girls used to rush to the fence and do a handstand so all the train passengers must have seen our knickers 😆 we got told off by the head in the end as someone on the train had complained! Much more innocent days, all about having fun outside yes. And gardening, art, sewing anything creative is all about enjoying the moment isnt it. Anyway lovely video thanks ❤️

When I get "stuck'. Sometimes I just decide to do nothing off any list and take all pressure off. Not everyday has to be productive. I've learned this as I've got older and it's just being kind to ourselves. Normally once I've made the decision to do nothing I get motivated to do something !!! 🙃

So frustrating about the taps and definitely an expense you could do without. Whenever I purchase things these days in the back of my mind is how easy and cost effective will this be to repair when it goes wrong (because it will). Talking of procrastination I have ended up doing a load of cleaning today rather than tackling some of the admin/legal paperwork that I need to look at and deal with. At least I can get on with those jobs this week whilst sitting in a nice clean environment so it has its upsides. 😊

Me and my husband are polar opposites when it comes to getting things done...he is Mr last minute and will put off whatever it is that needs to be done until it just cannot be put off any longer...I, on the other hand, cannot relax until I have done what ever job it is that needs to be done ...I hate the feeling of having a job hanging over me!

Ugh they don’t make things to last anymore. Appliances are my biggest gripe. They used to last twenty years and now you’re lucky to get 8 years. 🙄 I get stuck to at times too. I bribe myself with a treat if I get my chores done, something simple like a glass of wine or a hot bath. It usually helps.

Sometimes you just have to be a human being and not a human doing. Do your cutting as a leisure activity, nice music or audiobook and a cuppa. X. If you get stuck on videos, just sit and talk about whatever pops in your head. AND, ditch the guilt 😊 x

Please don't feel guilty about all of this 'procrastination' business. It seems to be a common situation at the moment for so many of us, especially the creators and crafters. When you live solo, as I do, there is no other person to distract you and take you away from the list. I deal with it by doing one thing off the list then putting the list to one side and then do something really trivial. I even do nothing some days, just chat to friends, go for a walk or read a book. You'll get through this stage Vivi - you're not alone. 💚

well said... nowt wrong with a bit of distraction .... sometimes we 'fill' our time with jobs and then they turn from pleasurable tasks to dreaded drudge... My mum used to say , 'when you don't know where to start do something!'.. It's true one thing leads to another. washing a cup can lead to clearing out the fridge, which can lead to a shopping trip which can lead to meeting up with a friend for coffee... ( as happened to me last week. ) From drudge to pleasure. Enjoy your day 🥰

It must be difficult to create content when more than 50 percent of your topics are now gone which were garden related. When you move there will be a lot of stuff to fill the void and then the new garden hopefully. At the moment you are in a bit of a impasse there is only so much you can do . The lavender bags will help a bit but its hard to crack on when things are in the air. I hope you find a suitable place soon. I myself am stuck with my journalling which I love just can't get the words down so know how you feel hope things start moving for you soon maybe a visit to the guys might help xxx❤

I've had an energy slump today which meant everything took me much longer than normal, I did get the job done though thankfully. I make a lot of things as I love lots of crafts and yes sometimes it flows and other times it definitely doesn't lol x

I try to get moving by saying "...one little thing, one little thing..." I talk myself through the steps that I need to do to get something done (It can be as mundane as scooping cat liter), say "I can do that." Then I rest and talk through the next task.then get up and proceed. It helps but at times when nothing gets done I try to be kind and let myself off the hook. Sorry about your taps...Take care =)

I know what you mean about taps. When I did the bathroom the plumber was saying to get a monoblock ... What!! I had one in my flat kitchen sink and one in the bathroom ... nothing but trouble.. They were always moving, they were always leaking and , again when I tried to get them repaired.. whole new unit , very expensive plumber ... total waste of money. My dad taught me how to change washers years ago... only due to dexterity ( lack of it ) can I not do them now. I hope you get it sorted soon.

I have felt stuck for a couple of weeks and I procrastinate because I have had so much do before I travel to London and Brighton next week. I want to do everything with a smile while I am singing something.But sometimes it feels like I cant´t move and everything is buzzing in my head and I am not doing anything. Seems that the list is the problem. Maybe just do a list three times a week. Take the list pressure off. Personally to would absolutely hate living by a list. But..i had a list for my studies and research with reminders of the childrens committments.

Good morning ! Yep ! Know just what you mean about”stuck” as you say . I do get overwhelmed by what needs doing on my list , then I get discouraged that all I can do is sit down and do nothing !!! Once I get a ‘second wind’ I take advantage and race around till I’m done. This comes late in the day . I find if I’m bummed out about something in my life , it’s difficult to be motivated to do anything. Yes, working in the home does take more discipline since it’s all up to us . But ,honestly , your videos are always well thought out , organized , make a heck of a lot of sense and are engaging -or I would not be here waiting for you to turn up ! I also hate to make necessary phone calls . Time consuming with menus and wait time. We’re only human , Vivi .wish I had the answers . Yes, your idea of sub- lists works .❤xx

Unsticking is definitely a challenge! I’m very good at procrastinating and then last minute dashing. I’m not sure what to do next but have been catching up with friends and have joined a local ‘ yarnbomber’ 🧶group which keeps my hands and mind busy whilst I figure out what I’m going to do with my life. Not going out to work daily has shrunk my world overnight. Your videos help us not feel guilty for being in a rut. Re the tap situation do you think the hard water affects them? Down here in Sussex taps are always needing replacing as are kettles! Hang in there lovely lady you’ll be moving very soon and there’s going to be so much content to film then 🤗✨
