f quint It isn't that complicated. You cannot use the government to force any citizen to violate his or her biblical convictions. Doing so violates the 1st, 13th, and 14th amendments of the U.S. Constitution. What it doesn't include is the right to baked goods.
@johnh2266 жыл бұрын
Ethan Robinson-Salama - Terry Fox PS (1471) You should then be aware of God's definition of marriage. After all you profess to be a Christian right? You can't claim to be a Christian and support a distorted view of marriage, one that falls outside of His definition. For example you couldn't claim to be a vegan and eat hamburgers at McDonald's.
@niyaragsdale25746 жыл бұрын
John H Are you against it or what!? Im not following ur choice of words! If ur supporting it im sry for ur time if not i dont like it!!
@johnh2266 жыл бұрын
Ethan Robinson-Salama - Terry Fox PS (1471) Your response is flawed and here is why. Christians have no problems with homosexuals. The problem arises when homosexual couples force, by government sanction, Christians to violate their biblical convictions. So the correct example is someone who does eat meat forcing a vegan to eat a cheeseburger. The noted cases in Colorado and Oregon were examples of homosexual couples forcing, through government sanction, their values onto Christians who hold biblical views on marriage. A Christian not baking a cake for a homosexual couple isn't an example of forcing biblical convictions on the gay couple. So you had the right idea you just mixed up the roles. An example would be two carnivores (gay couple) walking into a vegan establishment and demand the vegan shop owner (Christian) to make chicken sandwiches, pizzas, hamburgers etc...,

i like how people on this show often say mind your own business/dont judge etc. while they literally do the opposite of that, even when a guy like this is LITERALLY minding his own business at his own business. new version of tolerance: tolerate me, but i dont have to tolerate you, cause only you are always wrong n intolerate, my opinions are always correct.
@scarybrowncub91026 жыл бұрын
I think the show is not promoting blind tolerance. I see what you're getting on, but going by your logic, you are actually touching the subject "Tolerance Paradox". Will you tolerate a pedophile to babysit your child? Will you tolerate a murderer to walk freely around your neighborhood? You see, the moment you tolerate everything, tolerance itself will be nothing but plain oblivion. So what you can actually do is, tolerate and accept things that are humane and respectful to all parties concerned, and stand up against things which do not treat people as a human being. In this case, those people are standing up against discrimination of sexuality. This is just basic understanding of civil rights, really.
@airplayrule6 жыл бұрын
Did u support the ruling that says the old, straight, Christian guy who started eharmony and all its complex formulas to better form straight couples, that he must chose between starting a new section on the site for homosexuals or lose more in lawsuit $ and have his site get censored/shut down? how come the mainstream news didn't cover how that right wing steven crowder guy (who i disagree with a lot) was refused gay cakes from Muslims/Jews? should they get shut down too? You're comparing pedos to gays. But i don't yell slippery slope like most. so ok: should nuns sell cakes to convicted pedos during their "helping kids who were raped" fundraiser? or to same-sex man/uncle couples (same-sex siblings was brought up in the gay marriage case, and eventually, the pro gay lawyer had to admit to justices that gay marriage would set a precedent for it so....?) there's nothing humane/best for all, about forcing a guy to do something he, and all the major religions of the world, say you can go to hell for (you the gay couple AND the baker if you support OR enable in anyway, including not warning your neighbor of possible judgement from God for the sin). it's humane/best to support what, as per CDC stats, has the highest rate of STDs by far, which hurts the gays and every1 in society? it'd be more humane to enforce anti-sodomy laws EQUALLY among all. is it humane if YOU are forced to do something u think is wrong? who decides what is/isn't proper tolerance or civil rights or "tolerate and accept things that are humane and respectful to all parties concerned"...you? popular opinion among voters, politicians, judges, or the "founding" fathers? speaking of humane and best for all partys: Farming is better for its workers/the environment/economics/health/compassion/better karma from non-meat. You can raise crops/plants/maybe some cows, & get back what they yield while avoiding suffering/killing. We don't need cruel factory farms. Plants don't have the brain, central nervous system, or evolved consciousnesses like animals/humans. Even (if) you think we evolved from eating animals, it doesn't mean we must, or should, eat them now. Many things happened before, or now, that isn't right for modern humans (e.g. cannibalism). Animals, even babies, are treated like (or worse) Africans in the middle passage slave trade. The past should help us learn from WRONGS to stop them faster. Having free will to choose doesn't mean any choice is ok. that's basically "might makes right" thinking. Eating animals violates: the non-aggression principle, being reasonable, being ethical, and the golden rule. You can't be for equality then treat animals so harshly different just cause they were born with a somewhat weaker brain/body. that's like eating people born mentally and physically weak. The major religions confirm this, & allow killing animals in EXCEPTIONAL situations (e.g. self-defense, starving during a flood with no other choice etc.) & anyway, forbid us from allowing the cruelty where babies are stolen from the mother, cramped somewhere 24/7 in hellish conditions with little or no protection from cruelty, only to be dragged or shocked by a prod, just to be sent to be hammered in (literally) then cut deep in their throat and hung upside down to bleed until death. That's not counting if you get cruel workers, or if you get really ill, and you're left to starve to death. I'm not even going in detail or mentioning all the problems, and words can't describe it anyway. If u want any details/sources from science or religion on this, tell me where to email 1 chapter in a book I wrote, which has all that. It also mentions examples of many tasty food that taste like meat (e.g. MorningStar burgers found in many grocers). lemme guess: THAT'S different, animals are different, we must tolerate meat eaters rights but not the animal rights, we need to do it, etc.? we go by "common sense/empathy" (Even though common sense allowed blacks to go through what animals are going through, and common sense proved in nearly all states that marriage is between a man and a woman and people voted against sodomy and people trust God over man made laws etc.) -this is what happens when you don't have objective/divine morality: just a bunch of leftists and rightists arguing (most right-wingers don't truly have and follow a full/accurate system of objective/divine morality).

@@melaniecordall -- If you listen at the last part of the video, she said she didn't want him to get in trouble. We know that the consequences for making someone feel uncomfortable are different for black people than they are for white people. That store owner could have decided to call the cops. She and her husband are both black; we've seen how the cops treat black people -- especially black men. She probably legitimately feared for his safety. I've seen this issue come up a lot in the WWYD videos: most black people clearly experience moral distress when these things occur. But often times they don't feel safe enough to say something, especially if the aggressor is white and they and the victims are the only minorities on scene. If someone decides to escalate and call in the cops, things could go sideways for black people -- especially black men -- real fast. I think some black people in these videos are literally debating whether jail time (or worse) is worth speaking out.

Because it’s discrimination and rudeness why would you want to stay in a restaurant were somebody’s being rude like you have the right to refuse service or to have your own opinions but being rude is unnecessary

Don't know why politics has anything to do with this, none of them said they were liberal and I'd speculate that half of them, particularly the ones using religion to defend the couple, were conservative.
