What would you do when you think no one is watching? What Would You Do? (WWYD?) explores the varying answers with the help of hidden cameras capturing individuals who have been placed within seemingly everyday situation that quickly go ary. The individuals on this hidden camera show are forced to make tough calls when directly faced with situations of racism, violence, hate crimes, and other hot button cultural issues. Catch John Quinones reporting on these individuals as they make split-second decisions to intervene or mind their own business. WWYD? airs Friday nights at 9|8c on ABC.
What Would You Do? (WWYD) is a hidden camera show, hosted by ABC News correspondent John Quinones, in which unknowing bystanders are placed in uncomfortable, and often compromising real world scenarios in public. WWYD’s hidden cameras focus on the average person’s responses and reactions to these issues of social responsibility. Topics such as gay couples being affectionate in public, date rape, racism and racial profiling, interracial couples, abusive parents, drunk driving, and harassment of the homeless are touched upon in this series. It also means that at a certain point, any less money for an individual or family will be a detriment on their ability to live. I was in my early 20s with my 2-year-old at a grocery store, card was declined (auto payroll hadn't gone through when I thought) with a bill of $175.00. Stepped out of line to call my bank in a panic, when I got back in line to concede that I couldn't pay for them. They let me know another customer paid for me. They left without me ever knowing who they were. 5 years later I was finishing law school and doing fine financially. Picking up something small at Target the woman in front of me had her card declined while trying to buy school supplies for her 2 kids. She stepped out of line on her phone trying to sort it out. I was able to quickly pay for all her stuff along with mine and left before she could see who had done it. I was very happy to pay back that stranger's investment from years earlier. The world is full of good people motivating others to be good people.

This put a tear in my eyes. I did a few tours overseas with over 200 combat patrols as a 11 Bravo. This hits home for sure. I got out of the military and used my G.I. Bill to go to school after 10 years of service. I remember having 10 dollars in my pocket only to buy a arms full of food and seeing two full shopping carts full of food for immigrants in front of me buying it with an ebt card and mebeing rejected for food stamps earlier that week for a retired veteran going to school with 24 credits only to be shit on. That broke me . I never really understood suicide and i can see now why a country we serve and ppl we serve can turn its back on us and why veterans die everyday to suicide . This broke me in that line that day. Thank you to everyone pulling the little you have to support everyone . That little lady said it best I have the love of God in me . God will take care of us. I heard a knock at the door, while home for the holidays with my wife and child. I was cooking some ricearoni and it took me a few seconds to get to the door. I was once struggling to make ends meet and would go to grocery store everyday and get just what would get me through the day, but one day my card reached the overdraft limit and found a sweet sweet lady (God bless her) not only she payed for my daily grocery but she went back into the store with me and helped me get a month worth of food supplies. The love shown to veterans by San Antonians is so very appreciated and the fact that The ones who help are in a day to day struggle themselves and are willing to give what little they have to help our veteran's. It seems to me that the poor appreciate our veteran's more than those who are well off financially and not just giving lip service either, but giving of there finances when they are in a struggle to survive themselves. Fatima Smith I am a army veteran and can tell you first hand that enlisted military personnel don’t get paid enough compared to the cost of living, especially if they have a family. Some families get food stamps, that’s how tight money is. I remember a sad story about a young boy whose father was stationed overseas. Their family was struggling financially, so he collected plastic bottles on the street, tried to bag groceries at the PX ( military supermarket) for to help his mother. This kid was about 10 years old. He committed suicide so there would be one less mouth to feed, so sad. I hope these military families get the help they need. If I was on that line I would also pay. Even if it wasn’t a veteran, senior citizen, anyone who didn’t have enough I would make up the difference. Most of us have been there, putting food back because we’re cash short. It’s wonderful that every person wanted to help him. We do have a great country, and kind people in the world!
