It's strange for me to see channel 10 as a CBS affiliate instead of NBC. Also, the GRC (Greater Rochester Cablevision) ad here was the first one I've ever seen. GRC was absorbed by Time Warner Cable a few years later. Thanks for the upload, Ben.

The main announcer of the Superman special was the great Jackson Beck, who narrated the Fleischer "Superman" cartoons in the 1940s, plus hundreds of commercials, and the 1980s "GI Joe" TV series.

Ahhh, this takes me back. Fun fact: WHEC-TV is the only station in Rochester to be affiliated with all three networks: CBS from 1952-1989, ABC from 1954-1962 (when WOKR finally hit the airwaves), and of course NBC from 1989 to the Present Day.

I live in Watertown, but I had a huge antenna that could get stuff from Montreal, Ottawa, Syracuse and Rochester because we were near the water and it helped reception.

That coffee ad reminds me of when SNL parodied it and Chris Farley went nuts when he learned it was crystals

The then-CBS station of the then-home of Kodak! And I have a tape of the 1988 Grammys; I already posted the 11PM newscast (on WCBS) which followed them.

From a Kodak-brand tape, no less.

Produced by Lorne Michaels, who was married to Rosie Shuster, the niece of Jerry Shuster, who, with Joe Siegel, created Superman.
