Wheel Bearing Install - 2001-2010 Duramax

DmaxStore installs a Dmax XD Wheel bearing on a 2007 LBZ 2500 HD with 35" tires. This installation video is applicable to any GM 2500HD or 3500 between the years of 2001-2010.

0:18 Disconnect the ABS Sensor
1:10 Remove Brake Rotor
1:24 Remove the four 15mm bolts holding the hub assembly to the spindle
2:34 Keep the hub backing plate for install with the new hub assembly
2:54 Clean the axle and the spindle to ensure for a clean install
3:17 Attach the new hub assembly to the spindle
3:41 Apply Blue loctite to the spindle bolts before
5:57 Place Rotor back onto Hub assembly
6:11 Thread a lug nut to a stud to secure the rotor on the hub.
7:06 Torque Caliper Bolts to 225 lb-ft
7:54 Reattach the ABS Sensor

That Tech just impacted the spindle nut on there? Then I see the torque wrench click with no movement telling me there’s no way to know if you actually over torqued that nut or not. Beside that, great video. Just don’t Ughadugah your axle nut and smoke your new bearings 😂

That was just for video purposes, he went through and torqued everything again after the video was shot.

What you think the raised suspension is for? It's so the owner can get underneath it and clean it meticulously. They'd never let dirt or rust get on that truck.

You ment the 4x4 CV shaft

I put Moly Paste on the knuckle where the hub seats into, and some on the splines of the CV. Prefer Anti Seize personally

Yes, the process is very similar for the 2011-2019 trucks as well.

Precision instruments 1/2" goes 40 to 250 and made in USA

Are you sure that 225 ft pounds is the correct torque? Other sources list it at 133#. I think that the bolt will strip treads or break.

The guy on the phone told me a dust O ring was needed where it goes on this installation

Great video for sure! But at 7:15, there’s no way in hell that was 225 ft-lbs of torque applied to the 21mm caliper bolts! I’m sure you’re strong being a mechanic, but that wasn’t hardly a 225 ft-lb effort on your torque wrench. I want to know what the true value is. Definitely not 225ft-lbs?

We went through everything fairly quickly for to keep the video condensed, we went through and torqued everything after this was filmed.

80 sounds way too low for the bracket bolts. Might have been referring to the slide pin bolts. People get those confused a lot.
