100 thousand + miles out of a wheel bearing is not bad at all in my opinion. This video will help a lot of people that have not ever changed a wheel bearing in a 3rd gen before.Nice to see Your trucks doing well.Thanks for posting...🙏🏻👍

Hey I have a favor to ask. I have a 2003 Cummins just like yours and am working on the heater core. I removed the heater lines from the engine and cannot remember which line goes on top and bottom. Any chance you could look at your truck and let me know? Thanks!

Soooo.... the bearings, Timken/SKF, last about 150k miles...? This is a second set....?

I think 150k is a good guess for those. Keeping stock wheels and tire size helps them also. My minus offset wheels probably shorted this bearings life a bit. This is only my first set of Timken brand on each truck. OEM is SKF. Assuming those were stock when swapped I actually saw over 200k miles out of those but I can’t be positive if they were swapped or not before I bought my trucks. Other bearings I’ve tried: duralast ran for 75k miles. Moog ran for 88k miles. And either Napa or oreilly brand I had fail with only 30k.

The dreaded hub bearing. Makes me cringe just thing about them, LOL. MY '07 megacab hasnt been too bad on them with stock wheels with 285/70-17. Im only on the 2nd set thank god, replacing the originals were a nightmare (225k on the truck now), went with the SKF also. Just found your channel tonight while searching Ram spare tire size fitment ( another very informative video) and just started binge watching your others videos. Great content and very well explanations. Thank you much for sharing. A quick question if you dont mind. Im in the market for new tires before a big road trip (retirement celebration). Ive been running Michelin LTX 285/70R17 for 80% of the trucks life. Was considering going to an AT ( TOYO, BFG, FALKEN) and stepping up to a 285/76r17. Do you see/feel any difference or loss of power between you 285s and your 295s? Especially when towing? I only tow a few times a month and its under 7500lbs. Thanks gain

I think you’ll generally be okay with the taller tires for towing. I once had 285/75/17 tires and I liked the lower cruising rpm for the Highway. It didn’t affect the towing performance too much. Now when I had 35x12.5 tires they made the truck a bit more sluggish with a tire that tall and heavy. When I switched to 285/70 I noticed acceleration was easier. On my 6.7 I have the 295/70 size and this has been an all around great size

Do you think I can get hub nut off with a 1/2 inch drive or do I need to buy 3/4 inch ratchet, socket & breaker bar?

I was able to use a half inch breaker bar with an adapter to 3/4 however, if the hub nut is on super tight you may break the breaker bar a three-quarter inch breaker bar would be ideal. I’ve done maybe 6 of these bearings and 5 of 6 times I was fine with the 1/2 in breaker bar.
