Yep, the Dark one is the Lord of the Grave, those who serve him dont get to die. The dude that was Baalzamon in the first 2 books, is actually Ishamael, he was released earlier or maybe not kept prisoner at all, not sure. He spent so long doing the Dark one's bidding he went mad and believed he was Baalzamon. After Rand kills him above Toman's Head, he is brought back as Moridin.
