Considering Rafe said the 1st 15 minutes of S3 are “women shredding each other” my guess is Liandrin is sent on a mission by Lanfear (Amerlyn Seat scene) & the fighting is the BA flight from the tower. The coup will come later in S3 after Elaida & the Trakands are introduced.

I think so too - and what was seen on the thunder stage certainly makes that seem pretty spot on. I would say the scenes we got in the teaser are the coup because it sounds like the BA fight was all inside the Hall of the Tower. so exciting!

@@koalasedai No, the scenes in the teaser are most definitely from the opening of S3 ep1 and they only showed 5 minutes of it where Liandrin is exposed as BA and uses the power to fight the other Aes Sedai. There's Aes Sedai being cut in half by her, columns collapsing and explosions and, at one point, Liandrin is being "burned" by Siuan (look at her face in the teaser and her singed red dress) and Alanna is also present in the Hall and defends the Amyrlin with Leanne. Rafe said that "it goes on for 10 more minutes in a similar fashion". So, the scenes with Alanna hurling the pavement towards someone (probably Liandrin) in the streets of TV and fighting with Liandrin can only be from that opening scene, trying to stop Liandrin and her allies from fleeing TV. It's also where one of her warders will be killed. The coup won't have Alanna involved nor Liandrin and will happen later in the season after we've properly been introduced to Elaida, probably as a result of the events and revelations in the opening episode of S3 that cause the Tower schism. Oh, and Moiraine does go back to TV, in fact she's in the streets of TV during the opening scene and witnesses what's going on in the Tower when there's an explosion (it was in the 5 min clip shown). I wonder if she'll be involved in the fighting as well.

In the scene with Rand and a figure in a flowing cloak I think the figure on the left is Rhuarc. If you look at the scene with Rand and Couladin, you can see several figures in or near what I think are the clan chief chairs. The figure seated on the left appears to be enveloped in a long cloak and the one standing on the right could be in a cloak. I think the show gives the clan chiefs cloaks as a visual clue to the viewers. And is the female looking figure standing by one of the chairs Sevanna?!!! Cand wait to find out!

I have so many more thoughts now after 12 hours with TDW and I totally agree, that's Rhuarc with Rand and the billowing cloak. I'm working now on putting Rands scenes into order and that has helped me a lot as teasers and trailers love putting things together in ways that confuse hehe. I agree that the visual of the clan chiefs will be great for viewers, particularly non-book readers. I'm convinced that is Sevanna - so outrageous looking, but not in the book way. I love it! Thanks for watching, especially after such a big day!

@@koalasedai I also think that the large Aiel man standing beside Rand when the group is looking into the fog shrouded city is not Rhuarc, I think it is Gaul. I can't wait to see the WIse Ones costuming in detail and see how Sevanna's differs from them. SO many things to speculate on! 😆

Not sure if they used the Bangles version of Hazy Shade of Winter. Looks like an original simile of this with an orchestral feel. Still, as perfect for this as the Bangles version was for St Elmo's Fire.

Totally agree, it's not exactly the Bangles version, but they used the Bangles version as the base, it sure ain't the original S&G version lol. I threw this together so fast I know I was not completely clear in some bits and already know I'm totally wrong in others 🤪 thanks for enjoying!

In the books yep, how it will all play out in the show (which is another turning of the wheel so not exactly the same as the books) we get to WAFO and I am so excited! (I am going to do a thread on blue sky about this and get some input and do a little speculation video next week tho)
