One of my biggest gripes about season one for me, Was the lack of the language of the books apart from a couple of words here and there. The use of modern profanities was a major let down for me. A big factor of my enjoyment of the books was the language. Of the books. In my opinion the little things mean more than the big things. Here’s to a much improved season 2 whenever it comes out.

The release date for the TDR audiobook has been known since July last year. But I think it's indicative of the *originally* planned release window for S2. Since then, WoT Origins has been delayed by 6+ months, and if that was supposed to be part of the PR buildup to S2, we're looking at a release at the end of the year. This also agrees with Nerdy Nightly who stated on a livestream that according to his industry contacts, S2 is coming out much later than most people think (he mentioned October as a possibility).

I've said it before and I'll say it again, consistency in regards to release dates for seasons of television shows helps maintain viewership. At this point I would rather that s2 came out later this year to be more in line with when s1 was released in 2021. Though that means more time will be available to work on the show's effects it also means the effects have to be nailed 100% or as an audience wtf were we waiting for? I love Faile's character and her relationship with the other characters in the story. I would love for us to get to meet her in s2 but perhaps have her and Perrin's first meeting come later in the series.

Nice update. I wish we had a firm date for season 2 as well, but I think they know that if they rush season 2 and it bombs the show is probably done. Like others I am fine with waiting a few extra months. It just means season 2 will be better and there will be less time between s2 and s3. Books two and three are probably the hardest to adapt for many reasons. I really hope they nail it. Thanks again!

I want to see Faile, she has so much to do with Perin's growth in the books and I hate they started out the season with him losing a wife, it makes it difficult to see him so quickly wanting to be with someone else. I wonder why they went that route? Not enough story for Perin? lol She'll probably do a camio in season 2 and somehow be his wife for the battle of the 2 rivers? It will probably be rushed 😞

Maybe it's so him and Faile resist longer. Instead of Perrin jumping right into the ship with Faile, he conciously holds back so she doesn't get hurt, only to prove she's just as dangerous several times, leading to her and all the women saving the men and Perrin proposing to her.

Got no issues with Donnelly, the Director can only do his best with what he is given. Talking of Faile, it will be interesting to see how they do the whole Hunters of the Horn, could we see the hunt called in Illian in a Cold Open? Does it happen after rumours of the Horn being stolen spread? If June is correct, then we should see at least a new teaser trailer within the next few weeks, Amazon Prime should start ramping up the hype fairly soon. If it is June, then a Trailer drop at JordanCon (21-23 Apr) looks spot on.

I think she's with runaway Mat. The Horn part of her story never really gets mentioned again, so it makes sense to tie that into Mat blowing the horn early on. Gives her a reason to leave with them and stick with PErrin or even follow them and meet up later.

I think it would be good for the show and the story in general to introduce Faile earlier and have her develop a character etc separately from Perin and the others. one of the big issues with her in the books/Perins arc is that she is more or less attached to Perin from nowhere as the "annoying wife" stereotype. Making her an interesting character in her own right before she even meets Perin could do a lot to alleviate that.

I really am glad they look to be taking their time on the second season, but at the same time I get more and more impatient for it to start showing by the day :) On a side note I read a rumor that tor is throwing around the idea of other authors writing books in the WOT universe. That's probably just wind, but I would be interested to see what other people think of the idea. For me personally as long as said works use just the universe and not Jordan's characters I am not as opposed to the idea as much as I once would have been. I don't really want to see another author do the outrigger stories, but something that bridges the gap between our society and what the AOL was might be interesting.

I was starting to wonder if the amazon big wigs saw some of the S2 rushes ( I think they're called) and sent the creatives back to Europe do a better job of it. Like Lucasfilm did with the Han side story movie. I didn't think much of S1 photography, casting etc aside, so a more cohesive story with actual attention paid to the source material would be appreciated.

She hasn’t been officially announced but there is an actress who has been announced for season 2 in an unknown role named Natasha Jayahendry who many online (myself included ) believe may be the one playing her. Also: Rafe admitted online that Faile has never been his favorite character but that in the show he’s going to make her “awesome”. 😉.

Loved the update and looking forward to season 2. As for directors - well, a tv show and each episode are results of work of hundreds of people and many circumstances. There are great shows out there working with several different directors and fantastic shows having only one director. Personally, I'd love WoT to have one dedicated director for reasons of homogeneity, coherence and pacing. But maybe the problems in season 1 have nothing to do with directors. One day we may get to see all deleted scenes and the directors' cut and find out that what has been originally produced has been changed in post production by people from outside the creative production team.

Don't get me wrong, I will still watch s2 but I don't think that I will sitting at my computer at 9pm for the next episode to drop. If Faile makes an appearance in Season 2, the character would be only in episodes 7 or 8. While on screen in Season 2, Perrin will not be attracted to her (or ready for a romantic attachment). Any romance will develop in Season 3. I hope in this case, Jon's source is wrong about Faile. I would rather they wait until Season 3 to introduce her. I think their will be enough time in Season 3 to develop their relationship. I do not want to see a Thom use of Faile in Season 2

I'm really glad they did. I had been on the fence about whether to start reading the series for a while. My uncle was a huge fan, and I had heard good things about it, but I wasn't sure if I was ready to start reading a series that big after I had just finished reading the Expanse series. I watched the show and enjoyed it enough to start listening to the audiobooks. I ended up finishing the full series in just under a year. I loved it!

Minor SPOILERs if you haven't read the books. Since they are combining book 2 and 3 for season two it would make sense that Faile appears since she appears in The Dragon Reborn (book 3). As far as the director it doesn't matter who directed episode 8 because that was a hot mess from conception to finished episode. I really hope it was just about Covid. It would have been nice if they delayed season 1 to give a more finished product. The fact that Egwene 'resurrected' Nyneave when the ability to do so turns a fairly large turning point for Rand in the books moot. It was blasphamy and a huge mistake. Especially the way the did it. One of the worst scenes in the entire first season. Covid had nothing to do with that decision so hopefully Amazon steps up the first couple of episodes and stays more on point to the source material or they will lose the majority of book readers they haven't already lost. They'll still make plenty of money without the book readers, but it is extremely disrespectful to Jordan and his fans.

Okay wait there shouldn't be a time jump between s1 and s2 because the horn got stolen.they have to hunt for it. On fiale, she is in book 3 and they meet while chasing rand. Who is going to tear. If s2 is a combo of book 2 and 3 then therefore faile has to be in s2

Isn't there a built in 6 months time jump in book two? The time they spend jumping around to different planes when Rand tries to use the weird standing stones to follow Fain because the Ways is impassable? Everyone experiences many different lives and it seemed to go on for a long time. I am pretty sure it wasn't instantaneous like in book 4.

There is a time jump from book 1 to b2 and then another time jump when rand and company use portal stone to toman head(i think). Yes everyone experienced different lives or patterns. The issue is at end of s1 fain took the dagger and the horn. While that didn't happen till i think chapter 5 to 8 in b2 So there cant be a time jump between s1 and s2 because fain has the horn and the crew has to hunt him.

I rewatched the first season. I’m not as disappointed as the first time around. I don’t like that Moiraine is cut off from the source as that didn’t happen till much later with Lanfear. Also I don’t think it’s the Seanchan at the end. I think it’s the Sea Folk because of their tattooed faces.

Sadly, the Wheel of Time show has been a blunder by Amazon. They know most book fans hate the show. Letting Rafe Judkins "spin the Wheel" and re-imagine the Wheel of Time was a mistake. Like Rings of Power, Wheel of Time cannot be fixed. Too many fundamental changes were made. Unfortunately Woke Amazon could not have binary magic, because that would not work for non-binary people. Also, homogenous regions were banned in favor of a heterogenous world. None of the characters personalities in the show match the books. No wonder Amazon is panicking. Warner Brothers is about to make a Lord of the Rings movie that should completely discredit the Rings of Power.

I did not like the series. Too woke! Plus they left a lot of scenes out that I was looking forward to seeing on the screen. I watched the whole season, but did not like their changes. I guess I have to get used to things I love getting ruined for wokeness. They already ruined Star Wars, Star Trek and Lord of the Rings. I wish a small independent studio did this instead of Amazon.
