I like that Perrin ranks higher than Egwaine on your list. He truly has a better understanding of force of will in the World of Dreams when he deflected Bail Fire almost without fear and straight up told Egwaine, who thought she knew everything, that it was just a weave. I like to see Egwaine humbled as she's often unbearably arrogant.

Great review my man, as a non reader other than the first book, I can apreciate your points. But this season had me yelling "holy shitsnacks" at the end. It did disappoint me how little attention Rands powers got but other than that, holy shitsnacks batman!

There are times I cannot stand her! When she's talking down to Rand, constantly thinks she knows best, and just a general attitude problem. But after she becomes Amerlyn and goes up against the other Aei Sedei, I started really enjoying her POVs. Very similar I'd say to how I feel about Nyneve.

One of my least favorite characters up there with Queen Tylin, Egwaine, Avienda, and most of the Aei Sedei.

I am not finished with the series yet but I have to wonder why the children dont have any precence on the frontlines of the waste where the the actual trolloc threat was present That could actually give them some actual friends and good will from frontline states. Fact that they focus on spooking some coutryside villagepeople and raging impotently against Tar Valon would make you think they put on their pious face just as a front to be bullies. But the pov chapters with them tells that there members that really belive what they preach or are at least uncaring soldier types that just found themselves in that job. It would make so much sense that they would make some deal with some state bordering the wastes to have a branch office there to co-operate in anti darknes operations for the truly zealous members to get their dark slayer hunger stated (and maybe get some actual battle experience).

Late to this video but I feel like lotr magic is slower than wot magic. I.e. multiple flows at once in wot vs pure strength in lotr. Gandalf would win in a tug of war but not in a battle.

I think it likely that Andor will realign iself wround the Black Tower. There may still be a queen in name but I think she will be overshadowed by the Black Towr within her boarders.

One of my absolute favorite moments is when he visits Elayne and is being escorted by Captain Guybon. Guybon is asking him about all the rumors surrounding him, including if he hung from a tree for nine days and if he he stepped into death's domain to demand answers to his questions and was given the spear and the knowledge of his own death. It just goes to show how remarkably legendary the Emond's Fielders are becoming and gives a taste of how the legend fades to myth.

Nyn is the best, Eggs is the pest. Nyn has one of the best character arcs in the series. She goes from super annoying to to by far my favorite female character, and that's saying something when there's Min and Moiraine to compete with. Nyn fucking EARNED her place with Rand at Shayol Ghul. Honestly, Moist should be the second woman, aviendha felt kinda off. Avi should be leading the aiel outside Shayol Ghul, Nyn and Moist should be the two with Rand. Probably my favorite scene in the whole series is when Jedi Master Rand tells Nyn to embrace her emotions because they mean she cares. God I loved that

they payoff for mat rescuing the girls is HUGE!! at the beginning of that very book, he promises the supergirls that if they ever need him, he'll be there, and they LAUGH AT HIM because you only need men in times of crisis, not with time to send for him. and despite that, HES THERE THE EXACT SECOND TJEY NEED HIM, so he kept his promise!

nynaeve vs mat best character in the saga is a very good match

She is not, just as she is not ta'veren, BUT many people do not want to understand or forget (especially die-hard Eg fans and die-hard haters) that Egwene and Nynaeve are a "strong thread of the Pattern because of their closeness to the ta'veren" = black hole sue (this is explained by Moraine), they receive a lot of help from the Pattern throughout the saga, that is why many people believe that she is a "mary sue" or "a ta'veren" (understandable and normal to think this), they do not do everything by themselves, that does not mean that merit is taken away from them for what they do, or from any character, they all make the salvation of the Pattern possible by putting their own merit, ta'veren or strong thread of the Pattern.

Since they changed the whole storyline I hope that the ending of this show will be Rand don't win. Seeing how It's a portal stone storyline. Make the books end game.

I thought it was very clear that the Horn of Valere was a Ter'Angreal. We know they don't always require channeling to do what they do. We know that the hero's live in Tel’aran’riod, I just assumed it opened a gateway like connection and the Hero's came through.

I listened to the audiobooks after I watched the first season of the show. I love the show & expected to love the books much more. However, knowing most people will spaz, I didn't enjoy the books at all & gave up after book 4 or 5. I freaking love the show! It's one of my favorites! I've hated how long we have to wait between seasons! I hope things will get better & that seasons will b able to come out faster since the writers strikes r over. Anyway, great fan of the show & super excited for season 3 to FINALLY come out!

Rand doesn't travel to Tarwyn's Gap. The mechanics are entirely wrong, he would have seen a doorway, no matter what the situation was. More importantly, he can't travel because he hasn't learned his location yet, meaning it breaks the rules twice over. It does however perfectly conform with how moving from one place to another works within the Dream. Another hint here is that Need is the key to finding the Eye of the World, meaning it exists partly in Tel'Aran'Rhiod. This is also why it isn't found in a single place, it moves to whomever has the Need, and as we know you can only use Need to find the same thing once. There's a pretty good reason to suspect that the Horn of Valere is a kind of Dream Ter'Angreal which allows the Dream to be overlaid on the real world. This is evidently what happens at Falme, and it's likely the means by which the Eye was created as well, meaning that the Horn is powering the Eye's existence as the Dream overlaid on the real world. This may also explain why the Eye exists in the Blight, as the weakening of the bounds of reality might be required in order to allow a perpetual Dream overlay to be maintained. Given that we've established that the Eye exists partly within the Dream and that Rand uses the rules of moving in the Dream world to jump to Tarwyn's Gap, we might also contend that he simply creates steps that lead him to Ishamael's Dreamshard. The reason for being able to perceive the cord, something which can't be explained away by Rand not knowing what he's doing as it happens again at Falme and then at Rhuidean, again is implied to be something that happens when the Dream and the real world are overlaid. As said, Falme is evidently just that, and Rhuidean can be deduced to have also been a contained area of overlap between the Dream and the real world which Rand destroys during his battle with Asmodean. There is again no description of a doorway when Rand "skims" to Ishamael's Dreamshard, although you are likely correct that he does enter the space between worlds here. However, I would contend that the TSR quote you mentioned relates back to Rand chasing Ishy in TDR, not to this situation. Finally, there's no indication that Rand travels back to the Eye. Firstly, he doesn't fulfill the requirement of knowing the place he's traveling from. Secondly, as far as the narrative goes he falls unconscious after the battle with Ishy. Most likely again the explanation is in the fact that he never became untethered from the Eye and the Dream World overlay during this entire stretch. So long as he was drawing on the Eye he remained partially in the Dream, and when the Eye had been used up he returns to where he'd first moved away from the Eye using the nature of T'A'R. At this point the Dream overlay has also gone away, which is why the Blight begins to encroach on what was formerly the Eye. We're now fully back in the normal world for the first time since arriving at the Eye of the World.
