There are a lot of unanswered questions in the comments. after she's in the truck she has to pick the chair up pass it over top of herself in between her chest in the steering wheel, to put it in the other seat. depending on the model of her chair the wheels might come off like a quick-release ratchet and the back may pop off making it lighter. It's still a pain in the ass to reach down and pick it up to your eye level without falling out of the vehicle. Once the driver and the chair are in the vehicle driving is easy. there's just one lever that you grabbed next to the turn signal. It controls the gas and brake. As far as I know there is no convenient system for a manual transmission. Trucks suck because they're high and most cars these days suck because it's hard to find one that's not a 4-door car. Two-door cars have bigger doors so you can fold a chair and then lift it up behind the driver's seat, putting it onto the back seat. With four-door cars that's not an option. You have to pick the thing up over top of yourself and put it in the seat next to you. Real fun when it's raining out or even worse and the chair is covered with mud and snow and whatever other shit you've been in. when the ground is slippery sometimes you transfer into the vehicle and then the wheelchair slides away. I'd like to get an extended cab pickup and lower it so it would basically be like a two-door car. Maybe airbag suspension so it can go up and down. The only reason I haven't done that yet is the expense of it. This stuff's not cheap and opportunities to make a good living are pretty limited. If you need to maintain eligibility for SSD because you need the Medicare for your medical expenses, the government limits the amount of money your allowed to earn. There's a lot of feel-good videos on the internet but they don't begin to scratch the surface of the big picture.
