Russell Hastings is one of the nicest bloke on the music circuit. Seen From the Jam a few times, has no airs and graces, but what is so nice, he has time for all his fans! Great bloke. and a great band, From the Jam. BTW, Mike Brewer is also a great guy!

Alex you like jags I've got one a proper one, my dad in 64 bought a 62, 3.8 mk2 jag, gunmetal metal grey with red leather, i have a black & white picture of that car outside our old house with my sister standing behind it, she was no higher than the number plate plinth, it was the one car he wished he'd never sold, i dont remember the car he got rid of it I think early 70s I was a toddler (I was born in 71) and grew up as a car mad kid, my father died when I was 19, but I remember occasionally I'd spot a mk2 jag as my dad & i we're driving around & dad would say that's not the one, that's the small engine one or its a daimler etc etc the one to have is the 3.8, but something I spotted with my dad was you could see the regret he had of not stil owning that car and it is something that has had a big influence on my life & the choices I've made with cars & my life, & probably hasn't done me any favours in all honesty but what I have done is kept the cars I like regardless of the situation because I didn't want to be like my dad in years to come wishing I still had that car!!!, he had the one & from what he told me, all the car needed was a set of tyres & taxing, remember this was the early 70s they weren't worth anything then, his mate broke the car up & fitted the engine in an E type, (I wish he hadn't done that) fast forward to about 7 years ago im looking on ebay there's a gunmetal grey 3.8 mk2 with red leather, it even had my initials in the number plate it was an identical car to my dad's, one problem I didn't have any money, but I could get it, i explained to the seller my father owning one identical etc & if I have him a nice deposit could he keep it for for a few weeks, i won the bid & then had to find the money, it was £2900, it does need restoration, but im a welder by trade & specialise in classic car welding, so im doing as & when funds allow I've also got other cars my dad's truck he bought new in 83 that also needs restoring, and series 2 land rover I've had 30 years

I was riding my bike down highland road near the cemetery in Portsmouth, I was about 11 or 12 a pale blue 3 door vw golf came around the corner, and thought thats the guy from the jam driving that, I know now his name is bruce Foxton , this was early 80s it wasn't the GTI it was the basic model no headrests steel wheels, black & white check seats, so probably the start of there fame!!! do me a favour Alex can you ask if it was him, its only 37 years ago if I remember im sure he will hahaha
