Best way to drastically drag down the value of the car- change its color from yellow, which was one of the rarest ones to literally the most common color it came in- red. Congratulations on making your car worth much less than it did and paying for that process.

Well good ones have sold for around 100K so who knows. I would rather buy a car in its original colour even if that is the most popular one.

Not a release bearing. Main shaft bearing or pressure plate. Possibly worn springs in the disc

Just a note at 3:20 when the gearbox wouldn't come out. Most all manual BMW's require a jack under the front of the engine block. This tilts the engine back a few degrees on the motor mounts, providing the clearance nessecary for the bellhousing flange. I'm not sure if this applies to this specific BMW Ed is working on though.

It does. We fought hard and long on the E36 too and then the angle from a side gave me the aha moment. I put a lift under the engine tilted it back and the trans was out in 4 minutes.

4:55 some people also replace the engine rear main seal at that time, since a leak can destroy a clutch. It makes even more sense given how old that car is. I wouldn't even trust a Honda or Nissan of that age to hold oil..

What?? Quest TV buys the series 3 years behind the current series because they are freeview. The money they pay helps fund new series. The fact that ed quit the show doesn't mean they have to burn every series that's got him in it does it?? As for the new series if you only watch it for ed then yea you should stay away.
