How do you realize that the 4x4 is activated? I understand that it is supposed to always be on. But does a code appear on the dashboard that says 4x4 when it is used? I watched a video where they use it in mud mode and the traction control turns on and off but I don't know if that's what it indicates

So like you said 4x4 is what the vehicle drives in all the time. There is no indicator for that. No matter what mode you are in that vehicle is in 4x4. Now, if you put it in 4low than you will get a little yellow indicator that reads “LOW”
